  • Patent number: 11935129
Abstract: A method for automatically determining injury treatment relation to a motor vehicle accident comprises obtaining a plurality of images of a damaged motor vehicle, vehicle data describing the motor vehicle, occupant data describing an occupant who occupied the motor vehicle during the motor vehicle accident, and injury data from an electronic insurance claim associated with the motor vehicle accident, the injury data specifying an injury to the occupant; determining a delta velocity value for the damaged motor vehicle by applying a first machine learning model to the set of images of the damaged motor vehicle and the vehicle data; determining an injury severity score by applying a second machine learning model to the delta velocity value for the damaged motor vehicle, the vehicle data, and the occupant data; and automatically adjudicating the electronic insurance claim.

  • Patent number: 10429644
Abstract: Measures, including methods, systems, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media, for processing data for an augmented reality environment. An augmented reality user device receives at least one signal from a radio frequency beacon at at least one radio frequency receiver of the augmented reality user device. A spatial resolution operation is performed in relation to the at least one received signal to determine a location of the radio frequency beacon. A virtual object is rendered in an augmented reality environment on the augmented reality user device at least on the basis of the determined location.

  • Publication number: 20150355355
Abstract: The process of obtaining seismic data includes deploying a seismic energy source and seismic receivers, actuating the source, and detecting seismic energy resulting therefrom at the receivers. The process further includes digitally sampling seismic energy detected at the receivers indexed with respect to time to form a plurality of traces and sorting the traces to form a plurality of shot gathers. In addition, the process includes applying a depth migration technique to the shot gathers to generate two images according to the cross-correlation imaging condition (I0) and the gradient-based imaging condition (I1) for each shot gather. A reflection angle (?) or a general domain parameter (?) is computed at each subsurface position and the images are mapped according to the corresponding reflection angle or the general domain parameter to form common image gathers. Amplitude correction is applied to common image gathers and the images and common image gathers are stored on non-transitory computer-readable media.

  • Patent number: 8787578
Abstract: Method and apparatus for encrypting transmission traffic at separate protocol layers L1, L2, and L3 so that separate encryption elements can be assigned to separate types of transmission traffic, which allows the implementation of different levels of encryption according to service requirements. Encryption elements use variable value inputs, called crypto-syncs, along with semi-permanent encryption keys to protect from replay attacks from rogue mobile stations. Since crypto-sync values vary, a method for synchronizing crypto-syncs at the mobile station and base station is also presented.

  • Patent number: 8423647
Abstract: A service platform in a communications network connects callers to a service resource platform when implementing services requiring specialised resources. A number of different services use a common service resource platform. The service platform is programmed with respective maximum values for the number of calls originating from each service that may be connected to the service resource platform at one time and allows the call to be connected to the service resource platform at one time and allows the call to be connected to the service resource platform only when the count value for the respective service is less than the maximum count value. The service resource platform may have a single network address and a common range of ports that are freely allocated to calls generated by the different services running on the service platform.

  • Publication number: 20110267661
Abstract: An apparatus for scanning pages of bound materials is disclosed. The apparatus includes a base with a platform configured to support bound materials laid open. A depressor with a complimentary surface is provided to depress pages of the bound material flat against the platform of the base. The depressor has a transparent portion allowing the pages of the bound material to be viewed therethrough. The depressor is removable from the base. A camera assembly is connected to and supported over the depressor. At least one camera attached to the camera assembly and aimed towards the transparent portion of the depressor. The camera is configured to capture a digital image of at least one page of the bound material through the transparent portion of the depressor when the depressor is placed over a bound material that is laid open in the platform of the base.
