  • Patent number: 4819684
Abstract: An injection shut-off valve for insertion into an infusion line comprises a housing with connections for inlet and outlet lines. The housing includes an orifice for introducing an injection syringe. A valve is installed in the housing and includes a deformable diaphragm. In a non-injection state, the valve device seals off fluid flow between the inlet and outlet lines on the one hand and the orifice on the other. During injection, the diaphragm is deformed to create an opening such that fluid flow from the inlet to the housing is shut off. During deformation of the diaphragm the orifice is brought into fluid carrying communication with the outlet line from the housing, thus making it possible for the injection fluid to pass through the housing into the outlet line, and to a patient.

  • Patent number: 4522024
Abstract: The gas turbine power station, which is of the type utilizing an air reservoir, and is operated in accordance with the method for reducing the amount of NO.sub.x and for raising output, possesses an intermediate condensate-vessel and a main condensate-vessel for receiving the condensate which is produced in the compressor-air coolers. From the main condensate vessel, the condensate is introduced into the combustion chambers of the gas turbine, optionally after passing through a recuperator.

  • Patent number: 4454721
Abstract: A constant-pressure air-storage cavern wherein the floor and the roof of the cavern are inclined at an acute angle with respect to the horizontal and the transition portion from the cavern into the air riser and into the water tunnel is expanded to form a dome and a sump, respectively. In the sump a vortex generator is provided.

  • Patent number: 4312179
Abstract: A gas turbine power plant is disclosed which uses gas turbine engine components in conjunction with an air reservoir and a motor-generator. The compressor unit has low pressure, intermediate pressure and high pressure compressors and control valves which allow operation of the low pressure compressor by a low power auxiliary motor during starting while the other compressors do not absorb significant power. The power plant can operate by the motor-generator to charge the reservoir, can operate on the air cell with a turbine during peak load, and can function as a conventional gas turbine installation when the air reservoir is exhausted.

  • Patent number: 4270342
Abstract: A method of operating a gas turbine plant which, at the side of the turbine, has a high pressure section and a low pressure section, each of which has connected forwardly thereof a respective combustion chamber and wherein the combustion air is pre-heated. The combustion air, prior to entry into the high pressure-combustion chamber, is initially heated in a pre-heater and thereafter flushes the inner wall of the housing of the high pressure section and thus heats the same. The outlet temperature from the high pressure section is chosen such that it corresponds essentially to the inlet temperature at the housing of the high pressure section. Furthermore, the outlet temperature of the combustion air from the pre-heater is maintained constant, independent of load changes.

  • Patent number: 4033114
Abstract: A method for starting up a gas turbine system by means of compressed air delivered from an air-storage chamber and wherein the turbine system is comprised of high and low pressure turbines operating on a common shaft, there being high and low pressure combustion chambers respectively preceding the high and low pressure turbines, and an electrical generator connectible to the turbine shaft through coupling means which serves as the load for the turbine system.
