Patent number: 11055725Abstract: A system and method for temporal feasibility analyses that links a service requirement to a source capable of providing a service. In embodiments, the service requirement is received from a requestor, wherein the service requirement defines a type of service, location, and a request to provide the service within a predetermined time period. A repository of sources is analyzed to determine qualified sources that provide service to a region that includes the service location and have a response status greater than a predefined threshold, where the response status indicates a probability of the source being available to provide the service within the time period. A request is sent to each qualified source to provide the service, and responses are then received from at least one of the qualified sources in response to sending the request.Type: GrantFiled: March 19, 2018Date of Patent: July 6, 2021Assignee: HOMEADVISOR, INC.Inventors: Paul Zeckser, Brandon Ridenour, Andrew Tilley, Patrick Davis, Casey Laird, Eric Smith

Patent number: 10992594Abstract: A method may include, by a network resource optimization system, receiving from a network node a resource request, determining a plurality of network resources based on the resource request, and determining a subset of network resources from the plurality of network resources and a network resource from the subset based on a score of each network resource. The score of each network resource may be based on a rate of acceptance of communication requests received or a number of communication sessions established. The method may include, by the network resource optimization system, transmitting a communication request to the determined network resource and receiving an acceptance from the network resource. The method may include, by the network resource optimization system, causing a selection mechanism to be activated at the network node, receiving from the network node a selection, and initiating the communication session in response to the selection.Type: GrantFiled: October 15, 2019Date of Patent: April 27, 2021Assignee: HOMEADVISOR, INC.Inventors: John Casey Laird, David Paul Zeckser, William Brandon Ridenour, Craig Smith, Andrew Tilley

Publication number: 20170140323Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method and system for facilitating communication sessions between a service provider and a consumer. More specifically, the embodiments described herein are directed to receiving, from a consumer, a request for a product or service. The request is analyzed to determine one or more service providers that perform or provide the requested product or service. When various service providers are identified, an algorithm ranks the service providers from high to low. The highest ranked service provider is provided with an opportunity to instantly begin a communication with the consumer. If the highest ranked service provider declines, the next highest service provider is given the opportunity.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 16, 2015Publication date: May 18, 2017Inventors: John Casey Laird, David Paul Zeckser, William Brandon Ridenour, Craig Smith, Andrew Tiley

Publication number: 20150213158Abstract: A method for creating a home improvement design. A ‘design board’ tool disclosed herein allows users to collect pictures of room interior spaces and other images of patterns, colors, etc., assemble them on one display screen, and then edit the images to focus on what makes each picture important from a design perspective. A completed design board can be used as the foundation for remodeling or renovating a residential space. Following the creation of a design board, a professional designer can collaborate with a homeowner by exchanging ideas until a desired design is created.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 29, 2014Publication date: July 30, 2015Applicant: HomeAdvisor, Inc.Inventors: Christopher Steven Terrill, David Paul Zeckser

Publication number: 20150066657Abstract: A method for tagging and displaying image data. A digital image is initially tagged with a plurality of tags to generate a tagged image. Each of the tags includes metadata associated with a corresponding item shown in the image. The tagged image is then displayed on a web browser, and a when a user selects the displayed tagged image, each of the tags is displayed proximate the corresponding item in the tagged image. In response to selecting one of the displayed tags, one or more items similar to the item corresponding to the selected tag are displayed. The item corresponding to the selected tag is then stored in a list, and an advertiser of the selected item is charged in accordance with a predetermined schedule.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 29, 2013Publication date: March 5, 2015Applicant: HomeAdvisor, Inc.Inventors: Christopher Steven Terrill, David Paul Zeckser
