Abstract: Embodiments of the invention comprise systems, computer program products, and methods for a payment transparency tool that enables users (e.g., employees and/or customers) to identify the rules for payment assessments, the reasons that specific payments were assessed on customer accounts, and the criteria for avoiding future payments. The payment transparency tool compiles and analyzes payment assessment data for various customer accounts, identifies customer account information for the accounts, and creates customized views for users to present clear explanations and data to address payment assessment questions. In some embodiments multiple payments assessed on multiple customer accounts may be presented to a user in an interface through a consolidated payment assessment list. Within an interface a user can view data related to the date a payment was assessed, the type of payment, the payment amount, payment rules, customer-specific reasons for the payment assessment, and avoidance rules.
