  • Publication number: 20090278826
Abstract: An apparatus for producing the effect of a rotating circular display includes a plurality of display panels being connected into a polygonal array and respectively comprising a matrix of pixels and a driving circuit being electrically connected to the display panels and configured for selectively illuminating the pixels. The angle between the adjacent display panels in the array is generally equal to or less than about 20 degrees. The distance between adjacent pixels within the same display panel is generally equal to the distance between adjacent pixels across the adjacent display panels.

  • Patent number: 7245130
Abstract: An apparatus for diagnosing motor damping network integrity, the motor damping network configured for selective short-circuiting of the windings of a motor in a motor control system. The apparatus includes a motor controller with a motor drive portion thereof electrically isolated from the windings of the motor. A resonant network is based on the windings of the motor, the damping network, and a remaining non-isolated portion of the controller. An amplifier circuit applies an excitation signal to the resonant network. A detector circuit detects a response of the resonant network based on the excitation signal. A state of the damping network is determined based on the response.

  • Patent number: 6236326
Abstract: An apparatus and method for intelligent low battery response by a wireless telephone is provided. When the wireless telephone's rechargeable battery nears depletion of energy, and a call is in progress, the party conversing with the wireless telephone user is provided with a voice notification that termination of the call due to battery depletion is imminent. When the wireless telephone's rechargeable battery pack nears depletion of energy and a call is not in progress, the wireless telephone automatically initiates call forwarding with the wireless telephone network such that calls directed to the subscriber's wireless telephone number while the battery is depleted are redirected to a different telephone number. After replacing or recharging a depleted battery pack, and repowering on the wireless telephone, call forwarding is automatically deactivated such that the subscriber can resume receiving calls at the wireless telephone number.

  • Patent number: 5685851
Abstract: An irrigation syringe which is particularly adapted for injecting water into a human body cavity, such as for the cleansing of an ear, includes a pressure regulator unit which is connected to, and supported by, a faucet, and a handpiece including a manually operable valve. The regulator unit includes a supply chamber having an inlet which is connected to a pressure water supply such as a faucet, an outlet which supplies pressure regulated water to the handpiece, and a pressure relief outlet having a check valve which opens to allow water to drain, such as into a sink, when the water pressure inside the regulator unit exceeds a predetermined value. A flow limiting orifice at the inlet to the supply chamber helps smooth out pressure fluctuations from the water supply and provides a steady flow from the supply chamber outlet. Temperature and pressure readouts are provided on both the pressure regulator unit and the handpiece.

  • Patent number: 4758793
Abstract: A Detector Log Video Amplifier (DLVA) comprising a first RF detector for detecting the power levels of received RF signals having power levels within a first range (e.g., -40 dBm to -20 dBm) and producing corresponding first video frequency signals having amplitudes representative thereof, from which are produced output signals having amplitudes logarithmically proportional to such received signals. A second RF detector detects the power levels of received RF signals having power levels within a second range (e.g., -20 dBm to +20 dBm) and produces corresponding second video frequency signals having amplitudes representative thereof, from which are produced output signals having amplitudes logarithmically proportional to such received signals. A control signal is produced from the second video frequency signals, the control signal having a level in accordance with the power levels of received RF signals. Received RF signals having power levels equal to or exceeding a first level (e.g.
