  • Patent number: 8122251
Abstract: The invention includes a method and apparatus for preventing phishing attacks. A first method, for informing a user that a remote server is valid, includes receiving a request for information available from the remote server where the request includes an identifier, obtaining a dynamic personal attribute associated with the user using the identifier, and propagating the dynamic personal attribute toward the user, wherein the dynamic personal attribute is adapted for use by the user in validating the remote server. The remote server may be a web server, an authentication server, or any other remote device with which the user may desire to authenticate.

  • Publication number: 20100203901
Abstract: Location-based services are provided in a communication system comprising a wireless network. In one aspect, information indicative of location of a given mobile user device of the system is periodically collected. The collected location information is processed in a server or other processing device of the system to determine at least one normal pattern of movement of the mobile user device from at least a first location to a second location. An alert is generated if subsequent movement of the mobile user device from the first location to the second location exhibits a significant deviation from the normal pattern of movement. The normal pattern of movement may be used to generate a multidimensional geofence that includes, in addition to a geographic area dimension, at least one additional dimension such as, for example, a speed of movement dimension, a direction of movement dimension, a stop duration dimension, or a related device proximity dimension.

  • Publication number: 20090055238
Abstract: A meeting location that is “fair” to all the participants may be selected based on at least the travel circumstances and at least two initial criteria by which an optimal meeting location will be selected, at least one of which has values that are determined for each respective one of the meeting participants using at least information derived from the travel circumstances. Note that by “fair” it is generally intended that no participant can reduce his burden without significantly increasing the burden of some other participant. The meeting location may be determined using a multi-criterial approach. A criterion in this context is a particular property of the travel pertaining to a particular user. In the multi-criterial approach, one selects a preference relation based on each of the individual criteria, and the set of non-dominated alternatives is the outcome of the optimization process.
