  • Publication number: 20170008014
Abstract: A vortex finder (18,27,40) for a cyclonic separator (1) through which air flowing in a helical path ‘D’ about an axis A-A of a cyclone chamber (4) passes to an outlet (6) is disclosed. The vortex finder comprises a plurality of stationary overlapping vanes (13,19) extending in an axial direction and spaced radially around said axis ‘A’, the vanes (13,19) being positioned relative to each other so a helical flow of air about the axis of the cyclone chamber (4) passes over an outer surface (16) of the vanes (13,19) with a portion of the air flow being redirected around a leading edge (14) of each vane (13,19) and through a gap between adjacent vanes (13,19) to the outlet (6).

  • Publication number: 20160305558
Abstract: The invention relates to a valve (201), especially for feeding appliances, having an inner space (204) and walls (202, 203) partly enclosing the inner space. The inner space has a smaller first end (205) and an opposing larger second end (215), wherein the first end has a dimension being larger than 0 mm and smaller than or equal to 0.2 mm and wherein the inner space forms an opening through the valve or is closed at the first end by a closing part of the valve, wherein the closing part of the valve has a thickness being smaller than or equal to 0.1 mm. Since either the opening with the defined dimensions or a relative thin closing part which can easily be broken up is present, the likelihood of a fail function of the valve can be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20140339340
Abstract: The sprayhead device includes a housing (60) having an orifice plate (62) therein with at least one orifice opening (64) therethrough. A liquid line (36) delivers liquid to the sprayhead, where it proceeds through the orifice opening, wherein the liquid flow rate through the orifice and the liquid pressure are sufficiently great relative to the size of the orifice that the liquid moves through the orifice as a continuous stream. Gas is delivered to the housing and gas flows to the interior of the sprayhead through at least two openings (68) in the housing. The gas streams (flows) intercept the liquid flow perpendicularly, approximately 180° apart. The velocity of the gas flows is sufficient to break up the liquid stream from the orifice into a spray of droplets of desired size and velocity, accelerating them out of an acceleration duct (66) exit portion of the housing.

  • Patent number: 8726788
Abstract: A disposable cartridge (10), which is suitable to be used in a process of preparing a beverage, comprises a beverage making unit (1). A duct system (30) of the beverage making unit (1) has a main duct (31), a first subsidiary duct (32) which merges into the main duct (31), and a second subsidiary duct (33) which merges into the main duct (31) as well, at a different position than the first subsidiary duct (32). In a process of preparing a beverage, a first fluid is supplied by the main duct (31), and flows of a second fluid are supplied by the subsidiary ducts (32, 33). In this way, it is achieved that the second fluid is mixed with the first fluid in two steps. In case the second fluid is used for heating the first fluid, local boiling of the first fluid is prevented.
