    Abstract: A process is disclosed for making a solid composition comprising at least one quaternary ester ammonium compound and at least one substantially saturated fatty acid compound, a solid composition obtainable by that process, and a solid composition containing essentially more than 50 wt % of at least one quaternary ester ammonium compound, at most 50 wt % of at least one substantially saturated fatty acid compound, and less than 5.5 wt % of impurities.
