Publication number: 20240104565Abstract: A system and method for processing a bound payment method is disclosed. A customer can create a virtual card number for use solely at a specific retailer. In this scenario, when the payment method is used for a financial transaction, it becomes necessary to verify that the financial transaction is being carried out with the bound merchant. In embodiments, the virtual card number (VCN) information is received and analyzed to identify the exchange entity and a bound entity associated with the VCN. If it is determined that the merchant associated with the transaction does not match the bound merchant associated with the VCN, then the customer is notified of the discrepancy and provided an opportunity to confirm the dispute the denial.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 22, 2022Publication date: March 28, 2024Applicant: Capital One Services, LLCInventors: Pavel FORT, Lawrence DOUGLAS, Jeffrey WIEKER

Publication number: 20230325818Abstract: In some embodiments, an entity-restricted access token may be bound to an entity set. In some embodiments, use of an entity-restricted access token may be detected for an action related to a first entity. Based on the detected use of the token, a plurality of entity sets associated with the first entity may be determined, and a notification (e.g., requesting selection from among the entity sets) may be presented to a mobile device of a user. Based on the user selection obtained via the notification, the token may be bound to the user-selected entity set such that subsequent use of the entity-restricted access token is restricted to actions related to entities of the user-selected entity set (e.g., the first entity and one or more additional entities related to the first entity).Type: ApplicationFiled: April 8, 2022Publication date: October 12, 2023Applicant: Capital One Services, LLCInventors: Jeffrey Carlyle WIEKER, Pavel FORT

Publication number: 20230297621Abstract: A device may receive a merchant query including first merchant data associated with a first merchant. The first merchant data may be provided, as input, to a merchant matching model associated with a merchant data structure, the merchant matching model having been trained to determine a measure of confidence that input merchant data corresponds to an existing merchant in the merchant data structure. The device may receive, as output from the merchant matching model, a measure of confidence that the first merchant data corresponds to a second merchant, the second merchant being associated with second merchant data stored in the merchant data structure. The device may also determine, based on the measure of confidence, that the first merchant corresponds to the second merchant. Based on the determination, the device may obtain the second merchant data from the merchant data structure and perform an action based on the second merchant data.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 25, 2023Publication date: September 21, 2023Inventors: Pavel FORT, Ashish BANSAL, Chang W. Publication number: 20230043619Abstract: Systems as described herein may describe transactions using Unicode emojis. A description server may obtain transaction data associated with an entity. At least one feature of the transaction may be determined using a machine classifier. The description server may determine a visual representation for each feature associated with the transaction. Accordingly, a transaction summary comprising the transaction data and the visual representations may be generated and provided to a computing device.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 6, 2021Publication date: February 9, 2023Inventors: Pavel Fort, Timur Sherif, Jeffrey Wieker

Patent number: 9947019Abstract: A method for constructing a context profile within a system implementing symmetrical object profiles. The method includes establishing one or more contextual boundary parameters defining a context within which transactions occur. A plurality of transactions associated with the context is filtered using the contextual boundary parameters to obtain a pool of filtered transactions. Each of the transactions is conducted between at least two objects in the system including a plurality of objects associated with the symmetrical object profiles. An array of filtered objects including objects involved in at least one filtered transaction is established. Each filtered object is defined by a current version of a corresponding object profile and is associated with a corresponding transaction. The method includes generating a context object profile associated with the context that is based on attribute values of filtered object profiles associated with the array of filtered objects.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 2013Date of Patent: April 17, 2018Assignee: NBCUniversal Media, LLCInventors: Pavel A. Fort, Sheau Ng, Amy Shriber

Patent number: 9721263Abstract: A system is described that implements symmetrical object profiles across one or more objects, wherein an object profile is influenced by other object profiles with which it interacts. In particular, the system includes a configuration for a first object profile that is associated with a first object, wherein the first object profile comprises a set of attributes having a first set of valuations. The system includes a configuration for a second object profile that is associated with a second object, wherein the second object profile comprises said set of attributes having a second set of valuations. The system includes a profile updater for managing the first object profile and the second object profile, wherein in a transaction involving the first and second objects, corresponding object profiles are updated based on valuations in the first and second set of valuations.Type: GrantFiled: October 26, 2012Date of Patent: August 1, 2017Assignee: NBCUniversal Media, LLCInventor: Pavel A Fort
