  • Patent number: 9644599
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for modeling turbine parameters. One of the methods includes obtaining, along multiple points of a blade of a turbine from a minimum radius rmin of the blade to a maximum radius rmax of the blade, lift coefficients Cyi and drag coefficients Cxi. At the multiple points of the blade from rmin to rmax, corresponding components of an upstream fluid flow velocity vector uh,Ri and u?,Ri and components of a downstream fluid flow velocity uh,Li and u?,Li are obtained. Averaged directions ?i of the upstream and downstream fluid flow velocity vectors are computed using the components of the upstream fluid flow velocity vector uh,Ri and u?,Ri and the components of the downstream fluid flow velocity uh,Li and u?,Li. The total torque M of the turbine is computed including summing, from rmin to rmax, (Cxi sin ?i+Cyi cos ?i).

  • Publication number: 20140149090
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a storage medium, for distributed analysis of structures. One of the methods includes obtaining a geometric model of a physical structure; and performing an analysis of a structural characteristic of the physical structure, comprising: dividing, by a master node, the model into a plurality of subdomains using a plurality of separator surfaces, selecting, by the master node, a respective separator approximant for each of the plurality of separator surfaces, assigning each of the subdomains to a respective child node, providing, by the master node to each of the child nodes, information defining the subdomain assigned to the child node and information defining separator approximants for the separator surfaces bordering the subdomain assigned to the child node, and performing, by each child node, the analysis of the structural characteristic for the subdomain assigned to the child node using the information.

  • Patent number: 7831534
Abstract: A method for providing a polyhierarchical classification includes identifying properties of objects useful for distinguishing objects under classification. A plurality of criteria are identified for specializing the identified properties. A form is chosen for attributive expressions that describe classification categories. The attributive expressions are customizable and encode compositions of object properties in terms of attributes from the plurality of criteria. A domain of applicability is identified for each criterion that is representable by attributive expressions, and a dependence relationship between criteria is defined by the inclusion of attributes in the attributive expressions, where a selected criterion depends on another criterion if its domain of applicability includes at least one attribute by the other criterion. A generating polyhierarchy of criteria is automatically established by the dependence relationships between the criteria.
