  • Patent number: 8855697
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for establishing a push-to-talk-(Ptt) communication link between two Ptt devices (1,2), in which the data of different types, such as voice data (Sp), audio data (A), video data (V) etc., is transmitted between the Ptt devices (1,2). The first Ptt device (1) transmits a Ptt link request, and subsequently a communication link is established for at least one selection of said different types of data via a communication channel (F1, NF) according to a communication protocol. According to the invention, the Ptt link request contains priority information which enables the data types to be allocated a transmission priority, and the communication protocol only authorizes the communication channel (F1, NF) to be established if the second Ptt-device (2) is available for the data type or for the data types having the highest transmission priority.

  • Patent number: 8374158
Abstract: An operational method interfaces a second communication network containing an access node with a first communication network encompassing a contact node. In a first step, an access node reads or receives an identity which is specific for the second communication network and is stored in a storage medium of a memory node. Then an interfacing message containing the identity that is specific for the second communication network is transmitted from the access node to the contact node, which is defined by an address stored in the storage medium. A packet data service to the access node is supplied by the contact node such that the second communication network is interfaced with the first communication network. An assembly and a storage medium are provided for interfacing the second communication network with the first communication network.

  • Publication number: 20110238712
Abstract: A method and apparatus is described in which a server providing group communication maintains document of active group sessions. The group communication server may provide a search capability to identify active group sessions. Alternatively, the group communication server uses a caching entity to provide the search capability to identify active group sessions corresponding to a search request from a user.

  • Publication number: 20100325289
Abstract: An improved method for re-activating a terminated group session. A server responsible for controlling the connection stores associated participant information identifying clients that participated or were intended to participate the connection. This associated participant information is provided to the client when a negative response to the request for re-joining the connection needs to be given. The client can then re-activate the communication by re-initing the connection. The roles and responsibilities of the continued connection are more consistent and still, the task of storing the information for the continued connection takes place in the element where it is most appropriately done.

  • Publication number: 20100311409
Abstract: Presence information of users of the communication system comprises a presence data element that is associated with a condition such that availability of information in the presence data element of the user to another user of the communication system depends on the condition, and the condition is based on information in the presence data element of the other user. Accuracy of the provided information in terms of dynamic validity of the provided information is improved.

  • Publication number: 20080039029
Abstract: A service providing receiving client receives at least one first message containing first media and at least one second message containing second media. The first message contains first relative time information, e.g. an RTP timestamp and the second message contains second relative time information (another RTP timestamp). The first relative time information and second relative time information could be used by the service providing receiving client for delivering both media to a media recipient in a synchronized way. The sending push-to-talk-over-cellular (PoC) client, PoC server and receiving PoC client must be changed in the way that the synchronization information needed for the media streams are provided in the Talk Burst Control Protocol messages or Media Burst Control Protocol messages of the Media-floor Control Entity.
