  • Publication number: 20230332424
Abstract: A pool cleaner includes a vent mechanism and a water port in fluid communication with the vent mechanism. When a forward end of the pool cleaner extends above a waterline of the pool, water flows through the vent mechanism and the water port over an inlet port and prevents loss of suction at the inlet port. A protruding member of the pool cleaner contacts submerged obstacle and tilts the pool cleaner to prevent the pool cleaner from becoming stuck on the submerged obstacle.

  • Publication number: 20220307280
Abstract: A swimming pool cleaner is driven along a submerged surface by water and debris flowing past a turbine positioned between an inlet and outlet of the cleaner. Retractable elements carried proximate the inlet form a plenum for water to enhance adherence of the pool cleaner to the submerged pool surface being cleaner. A drive train independently drives each of two wheels for maneuvering the pool cleaner in forward and reverse directions along the submerged surface. A hose connector operable with an outlet port is angled toward the forward direction of movement of the pool cleaner such that a suction hose will be placed slightly ahead of the pool cleaner when climbing a side wall surface to provide a weight for keeping the cleaner below the water surface and thus prevent an undesirable sucking of air at the inlet.

  • Patent number: 9675913
Abstract: A debris trap useful is a swimming pool cleaning system includes a container having an open end and an opposing closed end, wherein the closed end wall includes an outlet port. A cover includes an arcuate shaped outside surface and an open end. The open end is defined by a cover rim dimensioned from mating with the open end of the container. The cover includes an inlet port extending therethrough. A coupling is pivotally connected to the container and has an arm extending over the cover outside surface and contoured therewith. The arm is rotatable from a locked position for biasing the cover to the container to an unlocked position permitting removal of the cover from the container to facilitate easily removal of a filter basket carried within the container.

  • Patent number: 9217260
Abstract: A swimming pool cleaner is driven along a submerged surface by water and debris flowing past a turbine positioned between an inlet and outlet of the cleaner. Rollers are rotatably carried on the bottom of the cleaner and forward and aft the proximate an inlet port. The rollers in combination with lower side wall portions of the housing form a plenum for water and enhance adherence of the pool cleaner to the submerged pool surface being cleaner.
