  • Patent number: 4793160
Abstract: Device for controlling the thread guides in a circular knitting machine, particularly for manufacturing hosiery and similar goods. The machine has a grooved needle cylinder, the grooves containing needles and needle jacks. The machine also has a control drum which controls the needle jacks by selectively tipping them by control elements mounted upon the cylindrical surface of a control drum. The thread guides of the knitting machine are controlled by programming elements mounted on an outer end surface of the control drum, the thread guides being selectively driven by programming elements mounted upon the outer end surface of the control drum.

  • Patent number: 4710646
Abstract: The invention relates to a thread movement sensor comprising an arm with at least one thread guide. The invention solves the problem of sensitivity of the sensor to the vibrations of the machine by making a part of the arm an element of a magnetic circuit of coil, the latter being connected to the control circuit of a knitting machine.

  • Patent number: 4014189
Abstract: A hose knitwork such as stockings, socks and the like having a closed toe portion. The closed toe portion is made in the form of a pocket closed substantially at its central section by a wrapping yarn. The toe portion is knit on a circular knitting machine with a combination of loop wales of which certain of the wales have a higher number of loops while the other wales have a lesser number of loops in the same course length. The wales having a lower number of loops may be regularly alternated with those wales having a higher number of loops. The wales having a higher number of loops may be provided with regularly alternating loops of elastic and non-elastic yarns while the wales having fewer loops may be formed with non-elastic yarns. The combination of loop wales may be provided by providing certain of the wales with loops formed of elastic yarn while the other wales are formed with loops formed of non-elastic yarns.

  • Patent number: 4005589
Abstract: Knitting elements for a single cylinder knitting machine adapted to be reciprocatingly mounted in the grooves of the dial knit loops and to transfer the loops to the needles. The knitting elements comprise a pair of blade-like members movable with respect to each other. One of the members has an operative end forming an upwardly directed finger having a forward tip and a front and rear yarn receiving beds on its upper edge, the second of the members has an operative end forming a downwardly directed finger having a forward tip above the level of the surface of the front bed of said one member, an upper edge rising from the tip thereof to the level above the rear bed of the one member and a lower edge forming with the front bed of said one member a space therebetween for gripping a yarn loop.
