  • Patent number: 11757266
Abstract: An apparatus for closing a ventilation opening in a housing of a switch gear in the event of a sudden increase in pressure caused by electric arcing. The apparatus includes a frame which is adapted to be coupled to the housing of the switch gear adjacent the opening, a flap pivotally mounted at the frame, the flap being adapted to be moved from an open position in which the flap overlaps the ventilation opening keeping a gap which allows an airflow through the opening, into a closed position, in which the flap fully covers the opening and blocks the air flow, spring elastic means which urge the flap into the open position, and a retaining element which is adapted to mechanically lock the flap in the closed position after pivoting the flap from the open position into the closed position.

  • Patent number: 11005240
Abstract: A three phase switchgear or control gear includes: at least one compartment; a plurality of components for a first phase; a plurality of components for a second phase; and a plurality of components for a third phase. The plurality of components for the first phase, the second phase, and the third phase each include a connection to a main busbar, a circuit breaker actuator, a single phase circuit breaker pole, and a cable connection. The circuit breaker actuator and the single phase circuit breaker pole for the first phase are oriented along a first axis. The circuit breaker actuator and the single phase circuit breaker pole for the second phase are oriented along a second axis. The circuit breaker actuator and the single phase circuit breaker pole for the third phase are oriented along a third axis. The first axis, the second axis, and the third axis are inclined.

  • Publication number: 20110068635
Abstract: A method of earthing two current inlet/outlet systems in a medium or high voltage switchgear using one circuit breaker comprises the following steps: a) switching OFF the circuit breaker; b) connecting the circuit breaker to the first current inlet/outlet system as well as to the earthing; c) switching the circuit breaker ON; d) providing a direct connection between the first current inlet/outlet system and the earthing via a connecting element; e) switching the circuit breaker OFF; f) disconnecting the circuit breaker at least from the first current inlet/outlet system; g) connecting the circuit breaker to the second current inlet/outlet system and to the earthing; and h) switching the circuit breaker ON. A switchgear apparatus to be used for said method is described as well.
