  • Patent number: 4079583
Abstract: The invention relates to an electrical chess clock comprising a pair of time measuring circuits each having a digital time display device. The time measuring circuits are driven by a common pulse source which may alternately be connected to the time measuring circuits by means of a switching circuit being operated by the players. The digits of the time display device which normally indicates minutes may in certain periods of time, for example during the last minute of each hour, be shifted to indicate seconds. It is then sufficient that each time display device contains three digits.

  • Patent number: 4076042
Abstract: The invention relates to a cut-off valve assembly for an oil burner assembly. The cut-off valve is of the type which is spring biased and rapidly opens and closes above and below a predetermined pump pressure. The rapid closing is to prevent fuel oil from dripping from the nozzle. The valve assembly has an expansible chamber formed with a diaphragm. The chamber has inlet and outlet ports with a valve seat formed on the outlet port. A spring biased adjustment element has a disk shaped portion below the diaphragm which carries a closure member for the outlet port. The face of the closure member is displaceable relative to the disk shaped portion and is of a larger diameter than the diameter of the valve seat for the outlet port.

  • Patent number: 4001560
Abstract: An electronic taximeter having a fare computing unit, a selector circuit and an operation switching unit. The fare computing unit computes a fare at a rate determined by logic signals developed by the selector circuit, which is responsive to signals applied thereto. The operation switching unit is operable to develop selected operating signals to determine the logic signals developed by the selector circuit. The selector circuit remains in an operating state determined by the last operating signal applied thereto, even after the last operating signal is removed, until a new operating signal is applied to change the logic signal output of the selector circuit.

  • Patent number: 3936235
Abstract: The invention relates to a fuel oil supply assembly of the type having a magnetic pump and an armature for driving a pump element or piston which is a part of a resilient oscillatory system. A flow restricting pressure regulating vlave in the delivery line is itself regulated in a manner such that the stroke of the oscillatory system is automatically adjusted so that only the exact quantity of oil required by the nozzle is delivered. The intermittent delivery movement inherent in the oscillatory system is thus made smoother by a damping of the oscillations which results from the piston being caused to travel over only a fraction of its maximum stroke.
