  • Patent number: 7245266
Abstract: An antenna directivity enhancer to enhance the directivity of an antenna is disclosed. The enhancer has a 3-dimensional structure in a predefined 3-dimensional shape when operating to enhance the directivity of an antenna. The 3-dimensional structure can be flexibly collapsible into 2-dimensional flat surfaces, with at least two of the surfaces not required to have any space between them when the structure is collapsed. The direction where the directivity is enhanced can be changed as desired. The enhancer can include just one reflecting surface, or at least two reflecting surfaces. In yet another embodiment, the enhancer includes a curved surface when the enhancer is in its predefined 3-dimensional shape.

  • Patent number: 5361746
Abstract: A magazine is provided for rifles and smooth barrel shoulder guns of the single shot type that use pellets as projectiles, that further have loading mechanisms which include a bolt, and that use as propellant either compressed air (pre-charged or provided by a pump), or carbon dioxide cartridges. The magazine of this invention will permit the operation of these guns as repeaters. The magazine stores pellets in reservoir ducts built into a body. The pellets are fed one at a time into a chute duct for rifle loading. The motion of the pellets within the magazine is propelled by gravity. A guide, which is part of the magazine, helps the operation of filling the magazine with pellets. This guide has a gate which prevents filling the magazine with pellets turned around backwards. The preferred embodiment of the invention may be attached and removed from the rifles by means of built-in clamps, or may be built onto a rifle especially designed to feature it.

  • Patent number: 5204614
Abstract: A microwave power sensor is disclosed which is capable of using diodes above their resonant frequency to sense the power of input microwaves. The power sensor includes a sensing diode, a conditioning means, and a tapered waveguide. For input waves having frequencies near and above the resonant frequency of the sensing diode, the output of the diode begins to be frequency dependent. That is, the diode outputs different DC signals for waves having different frequencies even though the power of the waves is the same. The conditioning apparatus is adapted to offset the frequency dependence of the diode by varying the fraction of the input wave that is transmitted to the diode so as to cause the output of the diode to be relatively constant for waves having equal power but different frequencies. The conditioning apparatus also provides a load impedance which matches the characteristic impedance of the input wave to minimize the reflection of the input wave.

  • Patent number: 4943764
Abstract: A wide dynamic range radio-frequency power sensor having a low-power sensor portion and a high-power sensor portion is described. Both sensing portions are connected to an input signal at the same time without the use of a signal splitter. In the preferred embodiment, a single radio-frequency load serves both sensor portions. Each sensor portion has its own output terminal. The low-power sensor portion includes a pair of diodes. The high-power sensor portion (which includes the radio-frequency load) may include a pair of diodes preceded by an attenuator, or a pair of thermocouples.
