Abstract: Cathode ray comprising an internal magnetic screen and a frame designed to support a shadow mask. The screen is attached to the frame by tabs cut from the peripheral lip of the screen, tabs being inserted into openings made in the surface of the flange of the frame coming into contact with the screen. This type of fastening enables the additional parts to be eliminated and the attachment of the screen to the frame to be automated.

Abstract: Cathode ray tube comprising a colour selection frame/mask assembly suspended within the front face of the said tube by suspension means composed of a first metal member comprising a central elastic part, a first extremity portion comprising a aperture designed to fit around a pin joined to the front face of the tube, and a second extremity portion attached by welding directly or indirectly to the frame the welding being carried out on the surface of the second extremity portion in at least two separate zones arranged in such a manner so as to form an acute angle ? with the hole of the first extremity portion greater than 10°. This support structure enables the tube to be made less sensitive to mechanical vibrations.

Abstract: Cathode ray tube with colour selection mask comprising a frame designed to hold the mask at a distance from the screen, the said frame of a noticeably rectangular shape has a pair of short parallel sides of a noticeably L-shaped cross-section with a lateral flank extending in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis connected to a flange noticeably perpendicular to the said longitudinal axis, the width of the flange of each short side is lower in the middle of the side than at its extremities such that the inner edge of the flange defines a curve whose concavity is oriented toward the longitudinal axis of the tube. This frame structure improves the thermal behaviour of the frame/mask assembly and reduces the weight of the materials for producing the frame while maintaining a sufficient mechanical rigidity.

Abstract: Cathode-ray tube comprising a frame/colour selection mask assembly, in which the free end of the skirt of the mask is constrained by lugs integral with the frame, in such a way as to minimize the nuisance movements of the skirt of the mask under the influence of vibrations generated by the environment of the tube.
