  • Publication number: 20200398745
Abstract: A system is provided for dynamic lighting of vehicle trim, accent components, and vehicle controls in a vehicle. The system includes a set of one or more display elements, one or more sensors, and one or more controllers in electrical communication with the one or more sensors and the one or more display elements. The display elements include lighted vehicle trim, lighted accent components, and lighted vehicle controls. The one or more controllers adjust the one or more display elements in response to readings from the one or more sensors. A method for visual feedback to a driver is also provided in response to information provided by vehicle safety features and vehicle controls.

  • Publication number: 20190022736
Abstract: A process of casting an article includes an iron alloy being heated to a pour temperature of between 1460° C. and 1650° C. and a fluidity length of greater than 23 millimeters to form a melt. The melt is poured into a mold and allowed to solidify to the article. The article is then removed from the mold. A process of forging an article is also provided that includes an iron alloy workpiece being heated to a temperature of between 600° C. and 1200° C. The heated workpiece is then placed into a die set and repeatedly struck with a forging die. The workpiece flows into the die cavity in response to the striking. The workpiece is then removed from the die cavity. The resulting articles and the alloy from which such articles are formed are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20180090483
Abstract: Microelectronic devices are formed on a substrate of an integrated circuit. An electrically conductive ground or power plane, and an Electro Static Discharge (ESD) protection layer are formed on the substrate. Terminals such as solder ball or wire bond pads are formed on the substrate, and are electrically connected to the devices. The protection layer is patterned such that portions thereof are disposed between the terminals and the plane to define vertical electrical discharge paths. The protection layer is formed of a material such as SurgX™ which is normally dielectric, and is rendered conductive in the discharge paths by an electrostatic potential applied to the terminals during an ESD event to shunt the electrostatic potential from the terminals to the plane. Alternatively, the protection layer can be formed between the terminals to define lateral discharge paths.

  • Publication number: 20180084505
Abstract: The invention relates to a method to reduce the power consumption of an electronic device comprising at least one voltage regulator. At least one of the regulators (REG1-REG4) is switched off and on according to a predetermined duty cycle during such periods when the electronic device does not require the normal power supply ability of the regulator. This may be realized e.g. in a mobile phone during two successive control channel messages received from a base station when the mobile phone is in a so called power saving mode.

  • Publication number: 20180083119
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a semiconductor device exhibiting improved short channel effects and increased current driving ability is disclosed. The method includes the steps of: providing a substrate of a first conductivity-type, e.g., P-type; forming a gate insulating layer on the substrate; forming a gate electrode on the gate insulating layer; forming a gate cap insulating layer on the gate electrode; introducing inactive ions of the first conductivity-type into the first conductivity-type semiconductor substrate at both sides of the gate electrode, so as to form amorphous regions; forming first impurity regions of the first conductivity-type near the amorphous regions; and forming second impurity regions of a second conductivity-type, e.g., N-type, in the substrate at both sides of the gate electrode. The method also includes forming source and drain regions of the second conductivity-type in the substrate.

  • Patent number: 8628546
Abstract: Surgical suture instrument for the muscular-skeletal system and the surgical technique used by same. A surgical suture system includes an instrument providing for the suture of muscular-skeletal system tissues by the use of blades which go from a withdrawn position to a position for the incision of the tissue to be sutured. The blades carry the suture, which is attached to the tissue by the incision of the blades, in response to a drive force aimed longitudinally from back to front, towards the surgical field. The instrument and the surgical technique allow for single or continuous stitching of suture on all tissue types. Its use in bone suture is particularly surprising, making it possible to join bones, implants, grafts, chondrocyte membranes, flaps, tendons, cartilage, etc. The surgical technique for which the surgical suture instrument is used can be applied in open surgery and in arthroscopy.
