  • Patent number: 9945555
Abstract: A burner is disclosed for generating flame and heat. The burner includes a first stage, a second stage downstream of the first stage, a third stage downstream of the first and second stages, and a fourth stage downstream of the first, second, and third stages. The first stage comprises a first innermost air chamber and a first mixing chamber for air and fuel, wherein the first stage includes separate conduits for air and fuel, and wherein the air and fuel begin to mix in the first mixing chamber during use to form an air/fuel mixture. The second stage comprises a second mixing chamber which comprises a deflection plate to force the air/fuel mixture outward from the centerline. The third stage comprises a combustion zone. The combustion zone includes a swirl generator. The swirl generator has an inner diameter greater than an outer diameter of the deflection plate. The swirl generator produces a swirl, whirl, vortex, or the like in the flame during operation.

  • Publication number: 20160211507
Abstract: A composite coated form of lithium cobalt oxide is described that can achieve improved cycling at higher voltages. Liquid phase and combined liquid and solid phase coating processes are described to effectively form the composite coated powders. The improved cycling positive electrode materials can be effectively combined with either graphitic carbon negative electrode active materials or silicon based high capacity negative electrode active materials. Improved battery designs can achieve very high volumetric energy densities in practical battery formats and with reasonable cycling properties.

  • Publication number: 20160194725
Abstract: The present invention relates to novel methods for the identification of specific mite species in a sample, such as mass reared sample or an environmental sample. The invention further relates to nucleic acid molecules encoding the structural ribosomal RNA elements (rRNA) as well as to the non-functional RNA situated between such structural ribosomal RNAs of specific mite species and its use for designing primers for use in the method.

  • Publication number: 20160084048
Abstract: Embodiments may take the form of a perforating gun of modular assembly. The perforating gun may include at least one centralizing member at an interface between a loading tube and a carrier. Among modular components, the gun may also include an initiator assembly module that is electrically coupled to a modular feedthrough with a connector. The insert and the centralizing member may enhance axial cohesiveness of the modular gun. A shock absorbing mount may be located within the carrier and may receiving the initiator assembly module to provide added axial cohesiveness to the modular gun.
