  • Patent number: 10953276
Abstract: A weight lifter's shirt includes a fabric body covering including an exercise device incorporated into the shirt. The exercise device includes an elastic chest spanning member and a pair of elastic sleeves or cuffs. In a bench press lift, lowering of a weighted bar stretches the elastic member thereby storing energy in the elastic member and assisting the lifter to raise the weighted bar.

  • Patent number: 10709178
Abstract: An arm and chest exerciser includes elastic cuffs into which a user places the upper arms. An elastic chest band connects the cuffs. Moving the user's arms backwardly stretches the chest band and exercises muscles of the arms, chest and shoulder. A gripping handle connects to the chest band adjacent to a midpoint allowing the user or spotter to pull down on the chest band and appropriately position it on the user's chest.

A gripping handle connects to the chest band adjacent a midpoint allowing the user or spotter to pull down on the chest hand and appropriately position it on the user's chest. A similar device may be incorporated into a weight lifter's shirt to store energy during a lift and thereby give the user's an ability to bench press heavier weights.

  • Patent number: 8578517
Abstract: In several embodiments, an athletic garment is designed to store energy when a weight or load is lowered in order to assist the wearer to subsequently raise the load. In some embodiments, the garment provides seams which are curved in order to twist the garment fabric and thereby store energy therein. In one shirt embodiment, the sleeves extend perpendicularly forward of the torso and then converge toward a centerline of the shirt. In a second shirt embodiment, the sleeves extend perpendicularly forward of the torso for their entire length. In a weight lifter's suit embodiment, the curved seams extends from an armhole of a torso section to a location under the buttocks of the lifter. In another shirt embodiment, the arms extend forwardly of a vertical plane when the wearer is lying on the back in preparation for an arching bench press movement.

Inventors: Irma P. Alaniz, Pedro M. Alaniz, III
  • Publication number: 20110283436
Abstract: A suit particularly for dead lifters comprises a front having a neckline substantially higher than in the back. This covers more of the front of the chest and reduces the tendency of the lifter to bend the upper torso forwardly. A method comprises wearing the suit while deadlifting.

  • Patent number: 5046194
Abstract: A weight lifting suit is made of a series of panels connected together by seams which provide a harness or supportive seat into which the lifter sits during a squatting movement. The harness brakes the lifters descent and provides rebound out of the seated or squat position thus enabling the lifter to lift more weight.
