  • Patent number: 9260674
Abstract: A biofuel consisting of a mixture of furanic compounds and polymethoxy benzene compounds which can be mixed with standard fuel consisting in hydrocarbons, and the process to obtain these compounds from sugar cane by converting cellulose, hemicellulose and sugars in furan derivatives and levullinic acid esthers and by converting lignin in alkoxy benzene compounds by hydrolyzing the cellulose and lignin of sugar cane first in a mixture of N alkyl imidazolium chloride, hydrochloric acid 37% and an alcohol, dehydrating pentoses and hexoses so obtained from cellulose, stabilizing the aldehyde groups as acetal and stabilizing the phenolic hydroxyls obtained from lignin as alkyl ethers.

  • Patent number: 9028789
Abstract: Process for obtaining lithium carbonate directly from the mineral containing silicium, aluminum, lithium and other metal oxides without the need to dissolve previously all oxides in sulphuric acid or alkaline hydroxides at high temperatures and pressures, by using carbon dioxide and water at supercritical or near supercritical conditions acting directly on the fine powder of the mineral.

  • Patent number: 8987172
Abstract: The present invention relates to glyphosate formulations (herbicides) containing glyphosate and a surfactant consisting essentially of a branched alkylamine where the nitrogen atom in the alkylamine is connected to a branched alkyl group and one, two or three chains of alkylene oxide units (e.g., ethylene oxide units and/or propylene oxide units, including copolymers of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide units).

  • Patent number: 8480764
Abstract: Process for converting cellulose and hemicellulose into dimethyl furan, hydrolysing first cellulose in a mixture of N alkyl imidazolium chloride, hydrochloric acid 37% and an alcohol, to produce an acetal of glucose, making the dehydration to an acetal of hydroxymethyl furfural, extracting and making the hydrogenation of this acetal and distilling to produce dimethyl furan.

  • Publication number: 20120058392
Abstract: We propose a rechargeable battery with aluminium anode. In order to avoid the high reactivity of aluminium ions with most liquid electrolytes, we present an electrolyte containing aluminium vapour in plasma state. The battery is contained in a quartz cylinder heated with microwaves to a sufficiently high temperature to ionise the aluminium ions in the vapour. The anode is graphite. By receiving electrons from the external circuit, carbon atoms in the graphite hexagonal structure receive 1 or 2 or 3 negative charges and combine with aluminium ions from the electrolyte. Four charges in the carbon atom corresponds to Al4C3, aluminium carbide, which can also be found. It has a melting point of 2100° C., it is a solid at the plasma temperature and sticks to the anode.

  • Publication number: 20100316914
Abstract: A rechargeable battery with aluminium anode containing a non aqueous electrolyte consisting of an ether as solvent and a lithium salt of an imide It is welt known that the ionisation energy of aluminium to Al3+ is about 12 times as big as the ionisation energy of lithium to Li1+. The redox potential however does not reflect this big difference because of the high enthalpy consumed in the formation of aluminium hydroxide when it goes from the anode to the aqueous electrolyte. Also the use of aqueous electrolyte do not allow the aluminium batteries to be rechargeable, because of the very strong bond between the aluminium and the oxygen atom in the electrolyte. We propose now a rechargeable battery where the aluminium ion is connected to the nitrogen atom of an imide which improves the redox potential by reducing the enthalpy of formation of the aluminium-nitrogen bond in the salt contained in the electrolyte.
