  • Patent number: 12293203
Abstract: Systems and processes for operating an intelligent automated assistant are provided. Upon receiving a user input requesting that a digital assistant initiate a task, performance of the task is initiated, and a task response is provided. If the digital assistant determines that task is associated with a first user interface, such as a non-digital assistant-specific user interface, the task response is provided using the first user interface.

  • Publication number: 20240428462
Abstract: In some implementations, a method includes: obtaining a first image; determining characterization properties for each of a plurality of pixels within the first image; determining a dominant hue based on the one or more characterization properties for each of the plurality of pixels within the first image; determining a plurality of hues that satisfy a predetermined perception threshold relative to the dominant hue based on the characterization properties for each of the plurality of pixels within the first image, wherein the plurality of hues is different from the dominant hue; and generating a second image based at least in part on the dominant hue and the plurality of hues. In some implementations, the second image corresponds to a color gradient generated based on the dominant hue within the first image. In some implementations, the second image is set as a wallpaper for a user interface.

  • Patent number: 12177207
Abstract: The embodiments set forth a technique for enabling a computing device to securely configure a peripheral computing device. According to some embodiments, the method can include the steps of (1) approving a request received from the peripheral computing device to engage in a setup procedure for the peripheral computing device, (2) receiving, from the peripheral computing device: (i) an audio signal that encodes a password and timing information, and (ii) a light signal. Additionally, the method can involve, in response to identifying that the timing information correlates with the light signal: (3) extracting the password from the audio signal, and (4) establishing a communication link with the peripheral computing device based on the password. In turn, the method can involve (5) providing configuration information to the peripheral computing device over the communication link.

  • Publication number: 20240403997
Abstract: An example process includes: while displaying a portion of an extended reality (XR) environment representing a current field of view of a user: detecting, with the one or more sensors, a user input to invoke a digital assistant; in response to detecting a user input to invoke the digital assistant, displaying a user interface element associated with the digital assistant; distorting the display of a first portion of the current field of view behind the user interface element; detecting a change in the position of the user interface element relative to the current field of view; and distorting the display of a second portion of the current field of view behind the user interface element.

  • Patent number: 12118974
Abstract: An electronic device includes one or more pose sensors for detecting a pose of a user of the electronic device relative to a first physical environment and is in communication with one or more audio output devices. While a first pose of the user meets first presentation criteria, the electronic device provides audio content at a first simulated spatial location relative to the user. The electronic device detects a change in the pose of the user from the first pose to a second pose. In response to detecting the change in the pose of the user, and in accordance with a determination that the second pose of the user does not meet the first presentation criteria, the electronic device provides audio content at a second simulated spatial location relative to the user that is different from the first simulated spatial location.
