  • Patent number: 11032847
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a communication protocol method and device which enables, for example, the live feed of data from sensor nodes in a Wireless Personal Area Network (WPAN) to a centralized node, in particular for low-power long-range communications, further in particular with frequency chirp modulations. The disclosure provides long range communication with very low power consumption, preferably with a refresh rate of a few seconds per node while operating in the Licensed-Free Industrial/Scientific/Medical (ISM) frequency band, defined by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The method and device protocol include Medium Access Control (MAC) and Host functionalities that make the best use a LoRa radio, while keeping a reliable live feed of data from peripheral nodes to a central node, that is capable of managing multiple links, configured to comply with directives from Conformité Européenne (CE) and Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for the license-free radio frequency ISM bands.

  • Publication number: 20180155793
Abstract: The present invention refers to a method for the detection of the c.-124 C>T and c.-146 C>T mutations in Htert gene promoter. The referred method uses a reaction composition that comprises primers for amplification and probes for genotyping. Another aspect of this invention refers the primers and probes used in performing the aforementioned method with sequences, identified as SEQ ID nr.1 to SEQ ID nr.6, that display high specificity for these mutations, as well as compositions that contain them. The present invention further refers to a kit comprising the above mentioned compositions for detecting mutations c.-124 C>T and c.-146 C>T mutations in Htert gene promoter by conducting the present method invention. The method, gene sequences, compositions and kit of the present invention can be advantageously used for detecting trace amounts of c.-124 C>T and c.-146 C>T mutations, present in biological samples due to its high sensitivity and specificity for such mutations.

  • Patent number: 6843991
Abstract: A pharmaceutical composition comprises M3 protein as encoded by virus MHV 68, or a homologue of said M3 protein, for use in binding to a chemokine or a chemokine analogue in vivo, or to block binding of chemokines to corresponding cell surface receptors in vivo, to produce an immunomodulatory effect, or to bind to a chemokine analogue present in a virus or parasite to block its entry into cells.

  • Patent number: 5798795
Abstract: A method is set forth for encoding and decoding a video signal, including the following steps: encoding the signal, the encoding including separating the signal into a plurality of spatial frequency bands at different frame rates, and temporally pre-filtering at least one of the bands with a pre-filtering circuit; and decoding the encoded signal, the decoding preferably including temporally post-filtering the at least one band, and combining the bands. In a preferred embodiment temporal pre-filtering is low-pass temporal filtering with a filter cut-off in the range 1.25 to 1.75 times the temporal Nyquist limit for the frame rate of the at least one band. The temporal post-filtering is preferably low pass temporal filtering with a cut-off near the Nyquist limit.
