  • Patent number: 9033251
Abstract: An RFID tag is provided that is suitable for mounting on surgical instruments, and by means of which stable anchoring on the instrument, encapsulation of the RFID elements from the surroundings, good cleanability and improved detectability can be achieved. The RFID tag has a metal holder, a housing that is made of an electrically non-conductive or slightly conductive material, an accommodating chamber and an RFID element with an antenna. The RFID element is arranged in the accommodating chamber of the housing. The housing has a first end which is held on the metal holder. The accommodating chamber in the housing is formed to be spatially spaced apart from the first end of the housing. The RFID element is positioned in the accommodating chamber in such a way that the antenna of the RFID element is spatially arranged substantially outside of the metal holder.

  • Publication number: 20150099939
Abstract: The present application relates to a double blade for a surgical retractor having a base body with a substantially cylindrical mounting mandrel for mounting the double blade on a surgical retractor, and at least two blade elements that are so mounted on the base body as to be rotatable and/or displaceable through at least a certain angular range with respect to the base body. Moreover, the present application relates to a blade arrangement in which a double blade is connected to a connecting element of a further double blade, or a single blade. In this case, the at least one double blade or, optionally, the single blade is rotatable with respect to the connecting element. In addition, the application relates to a retractor with a double blade, a blade arrangement or a blade assembly comprising double blades and a blade arrangement.

  • Publication number: 20150018624
Abstract: The invention relates to a surgical retractor, particularly for the retraction of a separated sternum, with a holding device and two spreader arms, wherein the spreader arms are mounted with one end on the holding device, at a distance from each other that is adjustable in a spreading plane, and at least two retaining elements for retention of bone material, for example of the separated sternum, are arranged on each of the spreader arms. To develop this retractor for sternotomy in such a way as to permit gentler opening of the separated sternum, it is proposed that at least one of the retaining elements is mounted such that its position can be modified in the retraction direction with respect to that end of the spreader arm mounted on the holding device.

  • Publication number: 20140350597
Abstract: A surgical hand grip for a surgical tubular shaft instrument is provided. The hand grip includes a coupling device for coupling to a tubular shaft tool having a tubular shaft and a force transmission element movable back and forth relative thereto. The coupling device has a coupling element for coupling to the force transmission element and a connecting element for connecting to the tubular shaft. A gripping device is connected to the coupling element and is transferable from a non-actuating disposition into at least one actuating disposition and vice versa thereby changing the mutual relative spacing between the coupling element and the connecting element. The hand grip has a guiding device with a guiding body for guiding the coupling element during the transfer from the non-actuating position into the at least one actuating position along a grip axis independently of the disposition of the gripping device during the transfer.

  • Patent number: 7867262
Abstract: A surgical fixing device for the fixing of adjacent bone parts is provided. A first engaging element is provided for engaging the underside of the two bone parts and a second engaging element is provided for engaging the upper side of the bone parts. A tensioning device connects the two engaging elements to each other through an interspace between the bone parts and permanently fixes the two engaging elements with respect to each other in a tensioned manner when they engage the underside and the upper side of the bone parts. To make it easier to apply the fixing device, at least one elastic tensioning element is provided which displaces a supporting surface applied to the upper side of the bone parts toward the first engaging element, so that the supporting surface and the first engaging element can be moved away from each other against the force of the elastic tensioning element.
