Publication number: 20240124374Abstract: Systems and processes for converting light or very light sweet crudes and condensates to chemicals and petrochemicals. The process includes providing a hydrocarbon feedstock comprising a crude oil or condensate having an API gravity of at least 35, a sulfur content of less than 0.2 wt %, and less than 10 wt % of hydrocarbons having a normal boiling point above 575° C. The hydrocarbon feedstock is heated and separated to recover a light fraction, a middle fraction, and optionally a heavy fraction. The light fraction is steam cracked to produce a cracked light fraction and the middle fraction is separately steam cracked to produce a cracked middle fraction. The cracked light fraction and the cracked middle fraction are then separated to recover one or more product fractions including an ethylene fraction and a propylene fraction.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 17, 2023Publication date: April 18, 2024Applicant: LUMMUS TECHNOLOGY LLCInventors: Ujjal Mukherjee, Pedro Santos, Kandasamy Sundaram

Publication number: 20240118191Abstract: A method for stratifying a patient infected with a respiratory disease is disclosed. The method comprises providing (1510) a fluid sample (9) from the patient, producing (1520) a light signal from a laser (1), illuminating (1530) the fluid sample (9) with the light signal through a lens in a sensing probe (8), acquiring (1540) a spectrogram from the fluid sample (9), extracting (1550) a plurality of spectrogram features from the light signal, comparing (1560) the extracted plurality of spectrogram features with a model in a database to determine a degree of severity of the respiratory disease. A result is then output (1570) to indicate the degree of severity of the respiratory disease.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 29, 2021Publication date: April 11, 2024Inventors: Cristiana Raquel DA SILVA CARPINTEIRO, Joana Isabel SANTOS PAIVA, Simão Pedro MARQUES PINTO DE FARIA, Vanessa Patrícia DIAS PINTO

Patent number: 11840673Abstract: Processes herein may be used to thermally crack various hydrocarbon feeds, and may eliminate the refinery altogether while making the crude to chemicals process very flexible in terms of crude. In embodiments herein, crude is progressively separated into at least light and heavy fractions. Depending on the quality of the light and heavy fractions, these are routed to one of three upgrading operations, including a fixed bed hydroconversion unit, a fluidized catalytic conversion unit, or a residue hydrocracking unit that may utilize an ebullated bed reactor. Products from the upgrading operations may be used as feed to a steam cracker.Type: GrantFiled: June 18, 2022Date of Patent: December 12, 2023Assignees: LUMMUS TECHNOLOGY LLC, Saudi Arabian Technologies Company, Chevron Lummus Global LLCInventors: Ujjal Mukherjee, Essam Abdullah Al-Sayed, Pedro Santos, Kareemuddin Shaik, Theodorus Maesen, Mazin Tamimi, Julie Chabot, Ibrahim Abba, Kandasamy Sundaram, Sami Barnawi, Ronald M.
