  • Patent number: 7780071
Abstract: An automatic banking machine includes a card reader for reading user cards, and a cash dispenser. A movable camera is positionable within the ATM housing. The automated banking machine carries out transactions related to user accounts based on information read from cards. Service personnel are enabled to direct the camera toward regions of machine components while conducting service activities that are not directly visible by a servicer. A camera assembly includes a microphone to sense sounds associated with machine components during test operations. The generated data may be used by an on-site servicer, or sent to an entity at a remote location. The visual images may be used to enhance diagnostic and servicing capabilities.

  • Patent number: 7735722
Abstract: Method of accessing components of an automated banking machine for servicing. A top housing cover is mounted in slidable relationship to the housing of an ATM chest or secure enclosure. In an operational condition, a front opening in the top housing is closed by an upper fascia. Removal of one or more fasteners allows the top housing cover to be slid rearwardly away from the upper fascia to expose various banking machine components such as a display, a card reader, a receipt printer, and input keys for servicing.

  • Patent number: 7658320
Abstract: An automated banking machine includes a lower fascia covering the door of the chest or secure enclosure. The lower fascia is movably mounted in supporting connection to the chest housing to permit access to the chest door. An inwardly extending flange supported on the lower fascia engages the chest door when the lower fascia is in an accessible position and the chest door is open. The chest door is thus retained in an open condition for access to the secure area for restocking a currency dispensing mechanism or servicing ATM components.

  • Patent number: 7413115
Abstract: An automated banking machine is operative to output a visual and audible user interface which enables a consumer to operate the machine. The visual user interface includes a plurality of hierarchically organized visual screens. For each visual screen, the exemplary machine includes corresponding verbal instructions which are output through external loudspeakers or a headphone placed in operative connection with an external port of the machine. Upon insertion of the headphone into the port, the machine is operative to mute the output to any external loudspeakers and set the audio output through the headphone to a minimum or medium volume level. The automated banking machine is responsive to operating at least one volume control key to cycle the audible output through a plurality of different volume levels. For each input, the machine is operative to output verbal description of the function associated with the input.

  • Patent number: 7407091
Abstract: An ATM can accept a bulk stack of currency notes for deposit from a customer. The ATM includes a stack transporter (400) that can rotate an accepted stack while relocating it to a predetermined location inside of the machine. The stack transporter includes a rotatable housing (406) in which a stack holder (404) is radially movable. The stack holder can receive a currency stack (411) deposited in a fascia opening (412) by a customer. The stack holder is retracted to move the stack away from the opening and into the housing to completely move the stack into the machine. The housing, having the bulk stack therein, is then rotated about an axis (408) to move the stack toward a stack processing area in the machine. The stack holder is then extended to expose a stack end out of the housing for stack processing.

  • Patent number: 7367493
Abstract: An automated banking machine includes a top housing supported on the housing of a chest. A rearwardly extending projection of an upper fascia selectively overlays a forward region of the top housing adjacent the front opening. A lower fascia is selectively movable between a covering position where the lower fascia covers the front of the chest, and an accessible position where the front of the chest is accessible. The lower fascia includes first and second side extensions. When the lower fascia is in the covering position, the side extensions overlay forward side portions of the chest housing. The lower fascia may be adapted to engage the open chest door during servicing operations. The automated banking machine may include a rollout tray supporting upper banking machine components, a rotatable processor case, and/or a slidable top housing cover to permit access to banking components for installation or servicing.

  • Publication number: 20070034683
Abstract: An ATM extends a stack of currency notes through a cash outlet opening for presentation to a customer. Each dispensed stack, including those of different sizes, is centered in the opening. The centering of a stack is based on its thickness. The thickness can be based on the quantity of notes in the stack. Different sized stacks require different amounts of movement to be centered. A stack is centered in the opening to facilitate grasping thereof by the customer.
