  • Patent number: 8602313
Abstract: A multilayer data carrier having a substrate on which there is formed a security element having a metal layer, the element showing an optical effect from a viewing side. In the metal layer there are formed recesses that are not, or at best poorly, recognizable to the naked eye in daylight and form a marking. However, the presence of the marking is recognizable from a suitable viewing angle and upon suitable illumination. Preferably there is located under the metal layer a fluorescent layer which causes the marking (60) to become visible upon illumination by UV light.

  • Patent number: 8376410
Abstract: A portable data carrier (1) includes a carrier (2) which has a first graphical representation (3) and a second graphical representation (4). The second graphical representation (4) is better protected against tampering than the first graphical representation (3). In addition, the second graphical representation (4) is configured as a reference for detecting tampering with the first graphical representation (3). Only a partial area (5) of the first graphical representation (3) laterally overlaps with the second graphical representation (4) and there is no lateral overlap between the first graphical representation (3) and the second graphical representation (4) outside the partial area (5).

Abstract: There is proposed a multilayer data carrier (100) having a substrate (10) on which there is formed a security element (30) having a metal layer (32), said element showing an optical effect from a viewing side. In the metal layer (32) there are formed recesses (50) that are not, or at best poorly, recognizable to the naked eye in daylight and form a marking (60). However, the presence of the marking (60) is recognizable from a suitable viewing angle and upon suitable illumination. Preferably there is located under the metal layer (32) a fluorescent layer (20) which causes the marking (60) to become visible upon illumination by UV light.

  • Publication number: 20100007130
Abstract: The invention relates to a portable data carrier (1) having a carrier (2) which has a first graphical representation (3) and a second graphical representation (4). The second graphical representation (4) is better protected against tampering than the first graphical representation (3). In addition, the second graphical representation (4) is configured as a reference for detecting tampering with the first graphical representation (3). The invention is characterized by the fact that only a partial area (5) of the first graphical representation (3) laterally overlaps with the second graphical representation (4) and there is no lateral overlap between the first graphical representation (3) and the second graphical representation (4) outside the partial area (5).
