  • Publication number: 20090215027
Abstract: A new method and a system for the simultaneous determination of a biological, chemical and/or physical property of a plurality of individual samples of a turbid is described. The invention relates to a system and colorimetric method for simultaneous determination and measuring properties, such as acidification or pH value, redox potentials, viscosity, diffusion, enzymatic activity, etc. of a plurality of individual samples of a turbid or opaque medium, such as, e.g. milk, whey and related products. In particular, this invention relates to a method for non-invasively and/or non-destructively scanning samples or an array of samples, and determine on the basis of the scanning a specific property, such as pH, of the samples. The method may also be used for multivariate determinations of chemical and/or physical properties.

  • Patent number: 7309610
Abstract: The present invention relates to dynamically controlling the expansion of a fluid bed reactor system. By mounting a density detector to a floating body that floats on top of the carrying medium in the fluid bed, one can detect the density at a certain position that is level with the sensor head of the detector. Upon comparing the density detected with a pre-determined density, the flow velocity of the carrying medium is adjusted accordingly.

  • Patent number: 4935862
Abstract: A device to produce alternating electric current of high frequency for power consumers such as fluorescent tubes comprises a transformer with a winding connected in series with an output terminal and active electronic components controlling the output current, said active components being controlled by electric voltages produced by inductive feed back. Magnetic saturation is utilized to modify the induction relationship in such way that the active components cyclically change the direction of the output current. According to the invention the feedback takes place in two magnetic cores, each core being equipped with at least one further electric magnetization winding designated a command winding, as electric current is fed through the command windings whereby magnetic saturation of the magnetic cores is controlled.

  • Patent number: 4606088
Abstract: A cushion or pillow for use by making upholstered furniture comprises a generally block- or plate-shaped foam core (2) and a fibrous stuffing material (6) which surrounds the core. The stuffing material (6) includes at least one layer or web of a cable fiber material, the layer being dimensioned and retained to completely enclose the core. The long and generally uniformly oriented cable fibers or filaments are retained and the stuffing material does not include free or loose fibers. Accordingly, it is not necessary to make specific demands with respect to the tightness of cover fabrics, since there are no loose fibers which are able to penetrate the cover. The fact that the long fibers or filaments are continuous has also the effect that the fibers or filaments are not able to lump or become firmly bonded together and, thereby, the cushion can be cleaned by usual washing and drying.
