    Abstract: An aircraft fuselage, in particular of an open fan propeller aircraft, includes a primary structure having frame members extending in a circumferential direction of the fuselage and stringers extending in a longitudinal direction of the fuselage and a ballistic shield covering an inner surface of a longitudinal section of the fuselage. The ballistic shield is inserted between adjacent frame members of the primary structure and extends in a longitudinal direction and a circumferential direction of the fuselage section. A ballistic shield for use on an inner surface of an aircraft fuselage, a ballistic shield assembly and aircraft are disclosed.
