  • Publication number: 20190253203
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a downlink data communication. The UE may determine a processing time for the downlink data communication based at least in part on at least one of: whether the downlink data communication was scheduled via preconfigured scheduling or via a downlink grant received in a downlink control channel, or whether the downlink data communication is an initial transmission or a retransmission. The UE may transmit acknowledgement or negative acknowledgement (ACK/NACK) feedback, corresponding to the downlink data communication, using a timing indicated by the processing time. Numerous other aspects are provided.

  • Publication number: 20190239172
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, an access node may synchronize a clock of the access node which is associated with communication on a local area network to a frame structure of a time-synchronized wireless network. The access node may receive configuration information relating to a quality of service profile and a first set of time intervals for the clock of the access node. The access node may map the first set of time intervals for the clock of the access node to a second set of time intervals of the frame structure of the time-synchronized wireless network. The access node may communicate on the time-synchronized wireless network during one or more of the second set of time intervals. Numerous other aspects are provided.

  • Publication number: 20190190635
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first node (e.g., a user equipment (UE)) may receive a timing synchronization signal from a second node (e.g., a base station) over a cellular wireless communication link. In some aspects, the timing synchronization signal may indicate mapping information to synchronize the first node with the second node. The mapping information may be for synchronizing a first time of a first clock of the first node to a second time of a second clock of a second node. The first node may synchronize the first time of the first clock to the second time of the second clock based at least in part on the mapping information and the synchronization information. The first node may transmit a timing control based on a timing of the second clock to a device connected to the first node via a local wired interface.

  • Publication number: 20190191403
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide time synchronization via wireless communications for devices that use strict timing synchronization. A user equipment (UE) may obtain time synchronization via a wireless connection between the UE and a timing source that may be associated with a base station (or another wireless device). In some cases, the timing source may be synchronized at the UE by determining, using periodic synchronization resources, a propagation delay between the UE and the base station that is based on a timing of a line-of-sight instance of a transmission between the base station and the UE. The propagation delay may be used to determine a timing advance value for use in timing synchronization. One or more devices may be coupled with the UE and the UE may provide commands to the one or more devices that are synchronized according to the synchronized timing source.

  • Patent number: 10251114
Abstract: Local IP access is provided in a wireless network to facilitate access to one or more local services. In some implementations, different IP interfaces are used for accessing different services (e.g., local services and operator network services). A list that maps packet destinations to IP interfaces may be employed to determine which IP interface is to be used for sending a given packet. In some implementations an access point provides a proxy function (e.g., a proxy ARP function) for an access terminal. In some implementations an access point provides an agent function (e.g., a DHCP function) for an access terminal. NAT operations may be performed at an access point to enable the access terminal to access local services. In some aspects, an access point may determine whether to send a packet from an access terminal via a protocol tunnel based on the destination of the packet.

  • Publication number: 20190075078
Abstract: Multiple protocol tunnels (e.g., IPsec tunnels) are deployed to enable an access terminal that is connected to a network to access a local network associated with a femto access point. A first protocol tunnel is established between a security gateway and the femto access point. A second protocol tunnel is then established in either of two ways. In some implementations the second protocol tunnel is established between the access terminal and the security gateway. In other implementations the second protocol tunnel is established between the access terminal and the femto access point, whereby a portion of the tunnel is routed through the first tunnel.

  • Patent number: 10154025
Abstract: One embodiment of seamless device configuration between a network device and an access point sends a device credential associated with the network device to the access point before the network device communicates with the access point. The device credential can be used to verify the identity of the network device and can authenticate the network device with the access point without requiring user interaction. Another embodiment can incorporate a central authority maintaining a database of network devices, access points and associated users. The central authority can determine when one or more network devices can seamlessly be configured for use with a particular access point. The central authority can send the device credential associated with the one or more network devices to the access point before the network device communicates with the access point.

  • Publication number: 20180338265
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A plurality of Ethernet devices may transmit Ethernet frames through a cellular network. The Ethernet devices may be coupled to the cellular network via a cellular node. The cellular node may receiver Ethernet frames from the Ethernet devices, identify a traffic class to the Ethernet frames, and map the Ethernet frames to bearers based at least in part on the traffic classes. The cellular node may transmit the Ethernet frames to other cellular nodes using the bearers. At a core network, a mapping between the cellular node and the MAC addresses of the associated Ethernet devices may be stored to allow Ethernet frames to be routed through the cellular network.

  • Patent number: 10098083
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for dealing with mutual clock drifts for communications over multiple RATs by maintaining a guard interval. A guard interval is a time interval during which no transmissions should occur. For example, the guard interval may be set relative to a scheduled interference interval of a STA so that transmissions to the STA from an AP will not collide with different RAT (e.g., interference) transmissions/receptions even with clock drift (e.g., a guard interval at both sides of the scheduled interference interval). Such an approach may allow the clocks to be re-synchronized (e.g., by the STA notifying the AP of the schedule of interference interval) infrequently to avoid excessive signaling overhead, which would increase with an increase in the number of coexistence STAs being serviced by the AP.

  • Patent number: 10091682
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Methods, systems, and devices provide for determining or identifying a client device that is monopolizing a channel associated with a first basic service set (BSS). Once identified, a second BSS is dynamically created and configured with parameters that are throttled with respect to the first BSS. The client device is steered to the second BSS and is prevented from reassociating with the first BSS until a change in device status.

  • Publication number: 20180248694
Abstract: Device provisioning (e.g., enrollment, configuration, and/or authentication) of a client device with a network device may be improved. A client device may receive a first nonce and a network public key associated with the network device. The client device may generate a second nonce and provide the second nonce with an authentication request having at least a portion that is derived from a shared key. The shared key may be based on the first nonce, the second nonce, the network public key, and a client private key. A configurator device may assist in the transfer of nonces or keys. Following the authentication process, the client device may be configured for use with the network device to gain access to other network resources. In this manner, permission to gain access to the network device can be transparent to the user, often without the user having to enter codes or passwords.
