Abstract: Devices with multiple functions and methods for switching functions thereof are provided. The device comprises a plurality of hardware components, a plurality of functional modules, an input device, and a processing module. Each functional module corresponds to one of the functional connecting configurations for the hardware components. The processing module executes one of the functional modules and drives the hardware components according to the functional connecting configuration corresponding to the executed functional module. The processing module determines whether to generate a switch command according to an input command received by the input device. When the switch command is generated, the processing module directly terminates the functional module being currently executed and adjusts to execute another functional module, and drives the hardware components according to the functional connecting configuration corresponding to the functional module to be executed.

The mounting base may latch to or detach from the positioning base and has a tapered sidewall, a panel recess formed in the sidewall and an illuminator mounted in the panel recess. The illuminator illuminates an area of interest and has multiple light-emitting diodes (LEDs) mounted on a substrate. The LEDs provide a wider field of illumination and more intense light. The camera assembly is attached pivotally to the mounting base. Therefore, the surveillance camera can get clearer and more complete images.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a writable storage medium with backup module contained therein to backup important data. With this writable storage medium, the user could automatically duplicate the data in the computer or the peripheral devices coupled thereto into the writable storage medium. All the user has to do is designating the target data to be duplicated, and the backup module will finish the rest. No installation of software is required. The user may recover any part of the target from the writable storage medium if the computer is crash or some important files are deleted accidentally. Hence, a simple and direct way for data backup is provided by the present invention.
