  • Patent number: 6511366
Abstract: A rotary woodworking machine includes an upright shaft rotatable relative to a plunger and driven by a rotary transmitting shaft which is driven by an output shaft of a motor. A lifting lever has a fulcrum end pivoted on a support frame, and a force end coupled to the output shaft by means of a cam member such that a drive force of the output shaft is transmitted to effectuate reciprocating upward and downward movements of the force end. The upward movement of the force end will cause an intermediate weight portion of the lever to lift the upright shaft as well as the plunger from a lower position to a higher position.

  • Patent number: 6481473
Abstract: An apparatus is adapted for discharging wood shavings that are generated during operation of a wood planing machine. The wood planing machine includes a machine base, a cutter support, a rotary cutter, and a drive unit. The apparatus includes a fan unit and a shavings collecting box. The fan unit includes a fan housing, a fan blade, and a drive shaft. The shavings collecting box has an open top disposed below a discharge hole in the cutter support so as to receive the wood shavings that fall therethrough, a closed bottom, and a lateral wall formed with an outlet port adjacent to the closed bottom. The rotation of the fan blade in the blade chamber causes the wood shavings that fall into the box to be drawn into the blade chamber via the outlet port and an inlet port in the fan housing and to be subsequently discharged through a discharge tube in the fan housing.

  • Patent number: 6422274
Abstract: A planing machine includes a support bed disposed within a machine body. A rod unit is mounted on the machine body, and is operably associated with the bed such that rotation of the rod unit results in movement of the bed within the machine body. A slide element is disposed slidably on the rod unit, and carries first and second bevel gears thereon. A toothed driving wheel is disposed adjacent to the slide element. The bevel gears are coupled to the rod unit for co-rotation therewith. The slide element is movable on the rod unit to a first position, where the first bevel gear meshes with and is driven by the driving wheel to permit the rod unit to rotate in a first direction, and to a second position, where the second bevel gear meshes with and is driven by the driving wheel to permit the rod unit to rotate in a second direction that is opposite to the first direction.

  • Patent number: 6382275
Abstract: A planing machine includes a support bed disposed movably along two pairs of vertical slots which are formed through two side walls of a machine body. A-bed-raising rod unit is operably associated with the bed in such a manner that rotation of the rod unit results in movement of the bed within the machine body. Two horizontally spaced apart and interconnected locking rods extend through the bed and the slots in the side walls, and have left and right threaded ends of opposite thread directions. The threaded ends of the locking rods are exposed from the slots in the side walls. Left and right nut units are disposed outside of the machine body, are mounted threadedly on the threaded ends of the locking rods in such a manner that rotation of the locking rods result in axial movement of said left and right nut units toward or away from each other.
