Abstract: Methods and apparatus for providing access in an event detection and tracking system are disclosed, where the event detection and tracking system is adapted for storing data associated with a plurality of detected events. An access request for access to at least a portion of data associated with one of the plurality of detected events is received and access information associated with the access request is obtained. It is then determined from the access information whether to provide access to at least a portion of the data associated with one of the plurality of detected events. When it is determined from the access information that access to at least a portion of the data is to be provided, access is provided in accordance with the access information.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed for modifying data for use by a business. Data including one or more values are obtained. At least a portion of the data is then flagged to identify one or more business events of interest to the business. The flagged data for one or more of the identified business events is then provided, thereby enabling the identified business events to be monitored.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed for sending a notification message in accordance with a set of notification preferences. The notification message is sent upon the detection of an event or satisfaction of a condition with respect to a detected event. The set of notification preferences may indicate a desired notification medium via which the notification message is to be sent, a notification addressee to which the notification message is to be sent, and/or a notification timing preference indicating a date and/or time during which the notification is to be sent (or received).

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed for collaboratively tracking and resolving detected events and conditions, which are referred to as Exceptions. Through one or more forms, users may interact to collaboratively resolve and track the resolution of detected events and conditions. A user may choose to take a more active role and resolve a detected event through a user exit that is previously defined, which provides an action (e.g., procedure or function to another external application) that can be initiated by a user to resolve a detected event. In addition, once an event is detected and an exception has been generated, the original source data that triggered the exception may continue to be monitored so that the exception is updated accordingly. When an exception has been updated, it may be desirable to escalate and notify one or more individuals of the change in the exception.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for implementing a system for monitoring data for detection of events and tracking data associated with detected events are disclosed. A system for monitoring data for detection of events may include a data modification module and an event monitoring module. In one embodiment, the data modification module is adapted for obtaining data including one or more values and flagging at least a portion of the data to identify one or more attributes that together define an event. The event monitoring module is coupled to the data modification module and adapted for monitoring at least a portion of the flagged data produced by the data modification module for detection of one or more events. The system may further include a notification module adapted for sending a notification of a detected event in accordance with a set of notification preferences. Moreover, a collaboration module may be adapted for providing a graphical user interface including data associated with one or more detected events.
