A current detector is connected between the first and second electrodes and is configured to detect a current flowing through the first and second electrodes. A calculator is configured to calculate the PH value of the solution, based on the detected current.

The apparatus comprising: a first unit (10) configured to determine at least one characteristic of a gas in the bubbles; a second unit (12) configured to generate the bubbles, comprising: an electrolyzer (120) configured to electrolyze an electrolyte to generate the gas in the electrolyte, thereby generating bubbles; and a controller (14), configured to control the second unit to generate the bubbles according to the at least one characteristic of the gas. In embodiments of the invention, the generation is controllable with respect to the gas in the bubble based on the practical requirement of the gas, and is more flexible and with wide applicability.

The ion absorption device may comprise: an electrode pair (12, 14), at least one electrode of the electrode pair (12, 14) being covered by ions-permeable gel (16a) with functional groups, the gel (16a) absorbing ions in a liquid (26a) when a voltage is applied on the electrode pair (12, 14). Covering the electrode with ions-permeable gel with functional groups may facilitate chelation of the cations and/or anions in the liquid with the functional groups in the gel, thereby, immobilizing these ions in the gel so as to improve absorption efficiency.

The invention proposes an apparatus and a method of preparing a solution (5) containing cations and anions. The apparatus comprises: at least one cation releasing module (10), each of which is configured to release at least one type of cations; at least one anion releasing module (12), each of which is configured to release at least one type of anions; and a controller (14) configured to control at least one said cation releasing module (10) and at least one said anion releasing module (12) to release corresponding types of ions.
