  • Patent number: 6233569
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of handling event recordings in a service database system. The database contains measurement tables (MT) which include consecutive rows (Ri). A single row contains data about a single measurement object. So that recording of a large counter group could be performed efficiently and, nonwithstanding, the measurement could be started without delay for all objects, (a) a single measurement counter is maintained copied to N copies on the row corresponding to each measurement object of the measurement table (b) time domain is divided into consecutive recording intervals so that only the values of a selected counter group located on the row are incremented during each recording interval, and (c) the recording and zeroing of the counter values is handled during a recording interval one measurement object at a time.

  • Patent number: 6192326
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of handling the event recordings in a service database system. The database contains stored measurement tables (MT) which include consecutive rows (Ri). For efficient use of event counters on the measurement table rows, said counters have been copied, and in every recording interval the counter values of a given counter group on a row are incremented, and the counter values of another counter group on the row are recorded according to a predefined rotation principle. The recording and zeroing of counter values is handled during the recording interval one measurement object at a time, and the first processing of each counter group after the activation of the measurement group for each object of the measurement group is forced to be such that the recording of the counter group is blocked, but the zeroing of the counter group is allowed.

  • Patent number: 6064950
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for monitoring the load situation in a service database system. The system generates a list which includes a desired number of measurement objects which are largest in respect to counter values. In order to obtain measurement data more efficiently in real-time, (a) the recording and zeroing of counter values is performed during each recording interval one measurement object at a time, (b) list is generated by the recording interval so that it is checked within a recording interval during the processing of each individual object whether the counter value of the object in question is greater than that of the object with the smallest counter value included in the list at the time and if this is the case, the object with the smallest counter value included in the list is replaced with the object corresponding to the row in question.
