  • Patent number: 7637793
Abstract: A spark plug for an internal combustion engine, the spark plug having at least two electrodes, in which the electrodes are formed of a first part made of a substrate material and a surface part more durable than the substrate material. The surface part of the spark plug is joined to the first part via an intermediate part making use of explosion welding. The method also relates to a method for producing a spark plug for an internal combustion engine, the spark plug having at least two electrodes.

  • Patent number: 6818315
Abstract: A method for the manufacture of a metal matrix composite by the SHS technique comprises a reaction between titanium and carbon or between titanium and borium, forming titanium carbide or titanium diboride. Tantalum and molybdenum or chromium are blended to the raw materials of the metal matrix composite to improve the resistance of the metal matrix composite to high temperatures and/or corrosion. The invention also relates to a metal matrix composite which contains elements at whose presence a protective oxide layer is formed on the surface of the metal matrix composite during the use.

  • Patent number: 5884190
Abstract: In a method for making a data transmission connection from a computer to a mobile communication network for transmission of analog and/or digital signals, the computer is connected to the mobile communication network by means of a telecommunication terminal which is in local data transmission connection with the computer. The telecommunication terminal utilizes at least a first operation mode and a second operation mode for connection to different types of mobile communication networks. There is testing to determine which operation modes of the telecommunication terminal are available in the mobile communication network. One of the operation modes of the telecommunication terminal available in the mobile communication network is selected for connecting the communication terminal to the mobile communication network. The telecommunication terminals set in the selected operation mode, and a data transmission connnection is set according to the selected operation mode.

  • Patent number: 5671224
Abstract: A method for interconnecting local area networks or network segments by means of a bridge. In the method, a local area network frame is received at the bridge and forwarded across the bridge if its destination address refers to a network or network segment on the other side of the bridge. In order that a bridge simple in structure can be utilized in cases where priority is to be assigned to terminal traffic over datafile transfer traffic, the length of the frame to be forwarded is determined for classification into a respective one of at least two categories, by length, and the obtained length classifications are utilized in the transmission of the frames for assigning priority to at least some of the shorter frames over the longer frames.
