  • Patent number: 6814940
Abstract: The present invention concerns a process and an apparatus for thermal conversion of biomass and organic wastes. According to the invention, the feedstock is fed into a fluidized-bed reactor, wherein the feed is converted at an elevated temperature under the influence of particulate matter kept in a fluidized state by a fluidizing gas, the particulate matter is transferred from the reactor to a regenerator for regeneration and then recirculated to the reactor after the regeneration, and the converted hydrocarbon products are recovered from the reactor. Both the reactor and the regenerator comprise risers having an axially annular cross section and being equipped with multi-inlet cyclones for the separation of particulate matter. By means of the invention, it is possible to producer pyrolysis oil, the quality of which is higher than that of oil produced with the processes of the prior art.

  • Publication number: 20040108251
Abstract: A method for processing carbonaceous material in a reactor. Carbonaceous material, such as sawdust, plant residues from forestry or agricultural processes, municipal solid waste and refuse derived fuel, is fed into the riser section (10) of a reactor (10-15) in which it is contacted with inorganic particulate material and reactor walls at an elevated temperature essentially in the absence of oxygen in order to convert the carbonaceous material at least mainly into gaseous processed products, whereby a gas phase is obtained, containing fluidization gas and processed products. According to the invention a dense suspension is formed into the riser space (10) of the reactor, containing based on the particle number 7×108 to 3×1011 particles/m3 (about 2×107-1×1010 particles/ft3), and the mass ratio between the particulate matter bringing heat into the reactor and the carbonaceous material is in the range of 1:1 to 10:1.

  • Patent number: 5400804
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and an equipment for inserting a tubular medicinal capsule on a support. In accordance with the invention, the opening extending through the capsule is expanded by blowing pressurized air into the opening immediately ahead the support being inserted into the opening. After the capsule has entered into its position, the pressurization is relieved, whereby the capsule opening contracts and locks the capsule on the support.

  • Patent number: 5261211
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for manufacturing subcutaneous capsules. The capsules are produced by cutting from a silicone tube lengths in excess of the final capsule length. The lenghts are arranged into rows including a defined number of them and in these rows they are filled and sealed. One end of the capsules is first sealed by glue dosaged into their openings. The material for the capsules is dosaged by an aperture disc glidable on a plane surface. By sweeping the upper surface of the disc the dosage volume is limited to the volume defined by the aperture. To regulate the packaging density of the material vibration may be used during the filling of the apertures. The dosaged material is conveyed to the capsule via a feeder funnel, through which a rotatable spiral spring, functioning as a filling screw, is inserted into the capsule to be filled.

  • Patent number: 5128221
Abstract: A storage battery (10) comprises several cells (1) enclosed within a housing, each cell containing electrolyte and plates coated with positive mass, negative mass, and positive and negative mass on different sections thereof. The cells are separated from each other with separator plates (14), and the requisite electrically conducting connectors are provided for connecting the plates and/or cells. Each cell (11) contains positive and negative plates (12,13,15). Each cell (11) is packed in an individual electrically insulating housing (16) so that merely the ends (12a,13a) of the plates (12,13) need to be electrically interconnected, respectively. The ends (12b, 13b) of the plates (12,13) are connected to the terminals (17,18) which emerge from the housing (16) to be electrically connected. For providing electrical conductivity, the spaces between the cells (11) and the end walls of the outer cells (11) are made electrically conductive with an electricity conduction joint (19).

  • Patent number: 5037671
Abstract: In a method for manufacturing storage plates, plate frames (5) of storage batteries are material-coated by active material supply means which is provided with at least one rotating material application wheel. The wheel includes a dispensing element (14) with which the active material is dispensed to a conveyor belt or equivalent means which travels under the supply means (10) and conveys plate frames (5). The material application wheel/wheels (11,1a) of the supply means (10) is/are rotated at such a high speed that the material application wheel/wheels (11,1a) dispenses/dispense the active material (1) from the dispensing element (14) to the mobile conveyor belt (20) under the effect of centrifugal force. The invention also concerns a means for manufacturing storage batteries.
