Abstract: In a reel change in the reeling process of a fiber material web, the fiber material web (W) running to a reel that is becoming full is changed to run around a new reeling core (2) brought to a reel change position in such a way that the web is made to adhere onto the surface of the new reeling core (2). The web (W) is made to adhere onto the surface of the reeling core (2) by a change in the properties of the material on the surface of the reeling core (2). The material is a combination of an adhesive area (6a) on the surface of the reeling core and a protective layer (6b) on top of the adhesive area, and the properties of the material are changed by removing the protective layer (6b).

Abstract: A web cut-off device including a frame defining a piston chamber, a piston movable in the piston chamber, a cutter blade attached to the piston such that upon movement of the piston in a first direction, the cutter blade is adapted to engage and cut a web, at least one pressure chamber and lower connecting ducts for connecting the pressure chamber(s) to a lower part of the piston chamber. The ducts opening directly into opposed side walls defining the piston chamber such that the piston operates as a valve between the piston chamber and the pressure chamber(s).

Abstract: A method and device for applying a load to a reel in a reel-up of a paper web in which a reel spool and the reel wound around it from the paper web are is loaded against a reeling cylinder with a predetermined loading force supported by a supporting point. The supporting point of the loading force is located in a construction movable at least in the machine direction along with the reel spool. The construction is positioned with respect to a fixed supporting point in accordance with the growth of the reel by a transfer device located between the construction and the supporting point and operating by mechanical power transmission, and/or a carriage at least partly bearing the weight of the reel is used as the construction. The supporting point of the reel is transferred at least in the machine direction by the carriage. The loading force is produced by a force device acting between the supporting point in the moving construction and the reel spool.
