  • Patent number: 11841357
Abstract: A measurement apparatus of a moving paper web, includes an optical radiation source that outputs optical radiation toward a scattering element of the measurement apparatus. The scattering element scatters the optical radiation, and a transmitting surface of the scattering element directs the optical radiation in a scattered manner toward the moving paper web. A distance between said transmitting surface of the scattering element and a surface of the paper web is known, and the transmitting surface and a detector of the apparatus are on opposite sides of the paper web. The detector receives at least a part of the optical radiation, which is side-scattered from the moving paper web. The detector determines a moisture value and a dry weight of the paper web on the basis of spectral information on the received optical radiation and the known distance.

  • Publication number: 20220089409
Abstract: A method for generating a representation of an elevator rope includes determining a first edge and a second edge of the elevator rope from measurement data obtained from consecutive measurement instances; and generating a representation of the elevator rope by combining the measurement data of the consecutive measurement instances in accordance with the determined first edge of the elevator rope and the determined second edge of the elevator rope. Some aspects relate to a control unit and a computer program product.

  • Patent number: 10444143
Abstract: Optical multi-channel measurement unit for a process measurement includes first ends for receiving optical radiation from the optical radiation source, and second ends for outputting the optical radiation for illuminating the at least one object. Optical detectors receive optical radiation from at least one measurement channel via at least one optical filter and convert an intensity of the optical radiation to an electrical signal. A movement mechanism causes, for filtering the wavelengths of the optical radiation propagating between detectors and the optical measurement channels through the optical filters, at least one of the following: movement inside at least one optical filter and movement between the filters and the detectors.

  • Publication number: 20150008346
Abstract: A measuring device includes a first optical sensor row and a second optical sensor row between which a planar object to be measured is placed. The direction of the first sensor row and the direction of the second sensor row differ from one another. Each sensor of the first sensor row forms data representing a distance between the object to be measured and the sensor. Each sensor of the second sensor row forms data representing a distance between the object to be measured and the sensor in order to determine at least one property of the object to be measured on the basis of the data.

  • Patent number: 8248610
Abstract: One measuring part of a traversing measuring unit measures at least one characteristic of a web with a first radiation type from a plurality of measuring locations during a traversing movement at successive moments in time. At least two measuring parts of an array measuring unit measure at least one characteristic of the web with another radiation type during each traversing movement at a plurality of different moments in time by directing the measurement to a plurality of measuring locations in the web at each moment in time. A signal processing unit is arranged to estimate at least one characteristic measured by the traversing measuring unit with at least one measurement of the array measuring unit.
