The projector provides a light beam to the liquid crystal lens which applies a pattern to the light beam to generate a structured light. The image sensor captures an image corresponding to the structured light. The circuit calculates first depth information according to the pattern and the image, and determines if the image satisfies a quality requirement. If the image does not satisfy the quality requirement, the pattern is modified and another image is captured for calculating second depth information.
