    Abstract: Compositions and methods of treatment are provided for preventing cancers caused by high-risk human papilloma viruses (HPV). Cancers amenable to prevention include cervical cancer, head cancers, neck cancers, and oral cancers. The compositions block interaction between HPV 16 E6, one of two major viral oncogenes, and its partners, thereby resensitizing HPV positive cells to apoptosis.
