  • Publication number: 20250227868
Abstract: A riser cage assembly including a riser cage bracket and a latching assembly having a lever and a slider, is disclosed. The riser cage bracket includes a side portion and a window portion coupled perpendicularly to the side portion such that a space is defined between the side and window portions to receive and couple an expansion card to a riser card mounted on the side portion. The lever is rotatably coupled to the side portion and the slider is movably coupled to the lever and the side portion. The slider extends parallel to a longitudinal dimension of the side portion and includes first and second latching elements adjacent to distal and proximal ends, respectively, of the slider. The lever is actuatable to drive the slider to translate horizontally relative to the side portion between first and second positions corresponding to fastened and unfastened states, respectively, of the latching assembly.

  • Publication number: 20250133679
Abstract: A riser cage of a computing device comprises a bracket, a riser card attached to the bracket, and a fastener attached to the bracket. The bracket is to support an expansion card. The riser card is to electrically connect the expansion card to the computing device. The fastener is to secure the riser cage to the computing device. The fastener comprises a handle, a shaft extending along a first axis, a pivot connecting the handle to the shaft, and a half-turn latch coupled to the shaft. The half-turn latch is configured to engage with a receptacle of the computing device to selectively secure the fastener to the receptacle. The handle is pivotable about the pivot between a deployed configuration and a stowed configuration, and in the stowed configuration the handle is parallel to the riser card.

  • Publication number: 20250048581
Abstract: A system for assembling a riser cage bracket is disclosed. The system includes a riser cage body, a first riser cage window, and a second riser cage window. The first and second riser cage windows are configured to be interchangeably and removably connectable to the riser cage body to assemble the riser cage bracket. The first riser cage window is configured to, when connected to the riser cage body, define a first space between the riser cage body and the first riser cage window to receive a full-height expansion card detachably coupled to the riser cage bracket. The second riser cage window is configured to, when connected to the riser cage body, define a second space between the riser cage body and the second riser cage window to receive a low-profile expansion card detachably coupled to the riser cage bracket.

  • Publication number: 20240147648
Abstract: A riser assembly may include a riser cage and a riser card. The riser cage includes sidewalls, a base extending from the sidewalls, and mounting features to mount the riser cage to a chassis of the electronic device. The base is coupled to the riser card positioned on a first side of the base. The base includes an opening to permit the connector to extend through the opening to protrude partially beyond the opening to a location on a second side of the base where the connector can detachably connect to an expansion card installed in the riser cage between the sidewalls. The base contacts the connector around the opening to provide lateral support to the connector on opposing faces (e.g., first sidewalls) of the connector.
