  • Publication number: 20240230298
Abstract: The present invention describes a safe-and-arm device, mechanism or assembly (160) for a projectile (100,102) equipped with a second-stage propellant (124). The second-stage propellant (124) is ignited after the projectile has been ejected out from a launcher barrel. A lockpin (190), being urged by a spring (194), is responsive to ignition of the second-stage propellant; after the lockpin (190) and spring (194) sense and respond to the second propulsion, an unbalanced rotor (164) forming part of the safe-and-arm device or assembly (160), is released to rotate from a “safe” state to an “armed” state, as the projectile continues traveling along its trajectory to a target. In one embodiment, the projectile is configured with a 40 mm cartridge containing a first propellant (122). An impact sensor may trigger an electric detonator or a point detonator may trigger a stab detonator to set off explosives disposed in the projectile.

  • Patent number: 11729468
Abstract: Authenticating the location of a viewing device for receiving content includes storing a plurality of connection identifiers in a database, the connection identifiers being associated with a plurality of networking devices and a plurality of user accounts. A viewing device sends a request to access content which is received by a server. The request is associated with a user account. One or more first connection identifiers is selected from the database based on the user account to which the request is associated. A second connection identifier is obtained based on a connection between the viewing device and the server. It is determined if the second connection identifier matches one of the one or more first connection identifiers. Content is provided to the viewing device if the second connection identifier matches one of the one or more of the first connection identifiers.

  • Patent number: 11255643
Abstract: The present invention describes an air-burst projectile (100) and a system (200) for deploying the airburst projectile to counter an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) 10. Each airburst projectile includes one or more spinners (140, 140a-140d); each spinner has a sleeve or a tube (146), a number of radial partition plates (148, 148a-148d) extending from the sleeve/tube and an annular rear plate (144) connected to the sleeve. Adjacent partition plates thus form a compartment (150). Disposed in each compartment is a streamer or streamers (170,170a,170b), which are formed in a coiled-up state. When the airburst projectile is deployed into a flight path of a target UAV, the spinners (140, 140a-140d) are ejected and the streamers (170,170a,170b) are dispersed in the flight path to create a streamer cloud, so that a streamer may entangle with propellers of the UAV and bring down the UAV, or as a warning or fence marking shot.

  • Patent number: 8422570
Abstract: A discrete cosine transform (DCT)-based orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) system is provided with a zero-padding guard interval and MMSE reception. The performance of the DCT-OFDM system with the zero-padding guard interval scheme and the minimum mean-square error (MMSE) receiver over time-varying multipath Rayleigh fading channels is investigated. The results show that employing the proposed DCT-OFDM system rather than the conventional DFT-OFDM system can provide better bit error rate performance in practical systems, by as much as 6 dB in signal-to-noise ratio.
