  • Publication number: 20160220691
Abstract: The present invention provides herein the design of monodisperse, amphiphilic anticancer drugs—which are now termed “drug amphiphiles” (DAs)—that can spontaneously associate into discrete, stable supramolecular nanostructures with the potential for self-delivery (no additional carriers are needed). The quantitative drug loading in the resulting nanostructures is ensured by the very nature of the molecular design. The DA is a composition comprising: D-L-PEP; wherein D is 1 to 4 hydrophobic drug molecules which can be the same or different; L is 1 to 4 biodegradable linkers which can be the same or different; and PEP is a peptide that can spontaneously associate into discrete, stable supramolecular nanostructures. In an alternate embodiment, the DA composition also comprises a targeting ligand (T). Methods of making DA molecules, as well as their use in treatment of disease are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20020005276
Abstract: A combination or steam power plant is provided with an apparatus (20) with integrated steam condensation and water/water cooling. The apparatus (20) according to the invention is provided with a steam jacket (30) that encloses a steam space (31) with cooling pipes (33) for the steam condensation. The steam jacket (30) is provided at one outerside with one or more heat exchange chambers (41) for the water/water cooling, said heat exchange chambers being enclosed by a part (43) of the steam jacket (30) and in each case by a second, preferably semicircular cylindrical, second mantle part (41). For the steam condensation and water/water cooling, the apparatus (20) is provided with common water inlet and water outlet chambers (21, 24) for the coolant.

  • Patent number: 6230493
Abstract: A steam power station includes a power house, an annex, a turbogroup disposed in the power house, and a condenser having a condenser neck connected to the turbogroup, and main cooling-water lines including at least one inlet and at least one outlet, the condenser disposed lateral to the turbogroup and the condenser, the at least one inlet, and the at least one outlet disposed in the annex. A conventional power house places a condenser, a condenser neck, and main cooling-water lines inside a power house. Accordingly, such a power house must be larger with respect to both height and width. To reduce the overall volume of the power house, the condenser of the invention is laterally disposed next to the turbogroup within an annex. The turbogroup has a turbine center line, the condenser has a center line located below the turbine center line, and the condenser neck has a gradient towards the condenser. The gradient can be predetermined.
