  • Publication number: 20240090081
Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a user equipment device (UE) to perform methods for Fifth Generation New Radio (5G NR) frequency range two (FR2) based communications beam management. The UE may configure, via communications with a base station, serving the UE, a group ID for PUCCH resources within a group of PUCCHs, e.g., for FR2 based communications. The UE may receive, from the base station, an update to one or more PUCCH resources within the group of PUCCHs via a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) that may include one of a resource ID indicating an update to a PUCCH resource or the group ID to update the group of PUCCH resources. • Publication number: 20240080780
Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for providing maximum transmit power control when utilizing multiple radio access technologies. For example, a wireless communication device comprising two cellular radios may intend to transmit on the first radio, while concurrently transmitting on the second radio. To ensure compliance with a maximum transmit power limitation, the device may determine an allowed transmit power level of the first radio, representing a difference between the maximum transmit power limitation and the current transmit power level being transmitted by the second radio. The device may also determine a threshold power level for a communication by the first radio. If the allowed transmit power level meets the threshold power level, then the device may transmit the first communication having a power level between the threshold power level and the allowed transmit power level. Otherwise, the device may forego transmission of the first communication.

  • Patent number: 11917464
Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for RACH procedures to avoid excessive handover/secondary cell group failures. A base station may declare a handover and/or secondary cell group (SCG) failure and may determine that a failure threshold has been met. The base station may perform a remedial action in response to meeting the failure threshold. The failure threshold may be multi-dimensional, where a first dimension is associated with a number of handover/SCG failures and where a second dimension is associated with a time period in which the number of handover/SCG failures occurred. Further, a third dimension may be associated with a UE mobility state and a fourth dimension may be associated with whether the UE is using FR1 or FR2. The remedial action in response to meeting the failure threshold may include the base station suspending transmission of measurement object configurations for a specified period of time.

  • Patent number: 11877245
Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods to indicate power transmission capability for a wireless device. A wireless device may connect to a base station (BS). The wireless device may transmit information regarding transmit power capability to the BS. The wireless device may indicate support for full power transmit capability for a subset of TPMIs for which it provides full power transmit capability, e.g., in a bitmap. This subset of TPMIs may be less than all of the available TPMIs (i.e., it may be a strict subset of the available TPMIs). Full power transmission capability of these indicated TPMIs may be provided via antenna switching and/or antenna virtualization. The wireless device may perform uplink transmission to the BS according to the transmit power capability indicated in the information. For example, the UE may transmit data using the antenna virtualization related to the subset of the TPMIs.

  • Publication number: 20230413087
Abstract: A device may wirelessly communicate with a number of different cells used in a carrier aggregation. The device may monitor physical downlink control channels (PDCCHs) on the different cells, dynamically switching between a dormant monitoring state (DS) and an active monitoring state (AS). In the DS, the UE may not monitor any PDCCH candidates on the active secondary SCells corresponding to the DS, or it may monitor PDCCH candidates in the search space (SS) set with the largest monitoring periodicity among the multiple SS sets on the active bandwidth part (BWP). In the AS, the UE may monitor a set of PDCCH candidates in physical resources configured by higher layers on the BWPs. Switching from one monitoring state to another may be facilitated through the use of a new downlink control information (DCI) format without data scheduling, a modified existing DCI format with data scheduling, and/or use of a DS timer.

  • Publication number: 20230403754
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) is configured to establish network connections for long-term evolution (LTE) and new radio (NR) radio access technologies (RATs) in non-standalone (NSA) E-UTRA-NR dual connectivity (ENDC) operation.
