  • Patent number: 12587007
Abstract: A computer system includes a processor device configured to determine battery current of each battery pack of a plurality of parallelly connected battery packs of an energy storage system of a vehicle, determine a system current for all of the plurality of parallelly connected battery packs in the energy storage system, compare the determined battery current with a predetermined battery pack overcurrent threshold for each one of the battery packs, and comparing the determined system current with a system overcurrent threshold, activate an overcurrent fuse of an associated battery pack in response to the determined battery current of the associated battery pack being higher than the battery pack overcurrent threshold, and to activate the overcurrent fuse of at least one of the same battery packs in response to the determined system current being higher than the system overcurrent threshold.

  • Publication number: 20250208218
Abstract: A computer system for estimating a terminal voltage of a battery cell of a battery is provided. The terminal is electrically connected to another object (such as another battery cell) via e.g. a cell-to-cell busbar. Processing circuitry is configured to obtain a voltage drop across at least the battery cell and at least part of the busbar; obtain a voltage correction value from a model of voltage drop across the busbar, and estimate the terminal voltage based on the voltage drop corrected by the voltage correction value.

  • Publication number: 20240421608
Abstract: A computer system includes processing circuitry configured to provide a characterization model for each one of a plurality of contactors of a switching arrangement, each contactor being configured to connect and disconnected an associated battery pack of an energy storage system of a vehicle by closing and opening, respectively, the characterization model defining contactor wear for contactor opening with regards to a plurality of system parameters, the system parameters comprising at least current and voltage during contactor opening, determine the system parameters during operation of the switching arrangement, estimate, for each one of the contactors, the contactor wear by applying the determined system parameters to the corresponding characterization model; control the order in which the contactors are opened in response to the estimated contactor wear, and/or predicting maintenance of contactor, or contactor exchange, in response to the estimated contactor wear.

  • Patent number: 6347273
Abstract: The present invention refers to a method to control the speed of a vehicle by means of a cruise control device, essentially by arranging the cruise control device in at least one of: a cruise control state (13), in which the speed of the vehicle is controlled preferably with regard to a selected constant speed (Vdet), a retardation state (14), in which the speed of the vehicle (Vcurr) is controlled towards a determined constant speed (Vdet), an acceleration state (15), in which the speed alteration is achieved preferably manually, an inactive state (16), in which the system is temporary or permanently switched off, and a distance control state (17), in which substantially a distance of the vehicle to a vehicle ahead is controlled. The method further comprises the step of arranging the cruise control in a temporary state (18), in which a speed (Vcurr) at transition time to this state is maintained.

  • Patent number: 6320500
Abstract: An indicating device in a vehicle that supplies complementary information to the driver of the vehicle. The device is provided with at least one scale for displaying basic information on an index disc. The index disc includes indicators arranged in close connection with and in relation to individual indexes of the scale and arranged as individually controllable light sources for indicating complementary information, which is relatable to the scale. The scale is arranged so that the basic information includes the vehicle speed and the complementary information of a relative speed to a vehicle in front.
