  • Publication number: 20070226240
Abstract: A technique for providing data objects prior to call establishment is disclosed. According to one embodiment, the technique may be realized as a method for providing data objects prior to call establishment. The method may comprise the steps of: initiating, by a first user equipment, a communication session with a second user equipment; transmitting a request from the first user equipment to a phonepage server prior to an establishment of the communication session; causing a data object to be created in response to the request and based at least in part on a user profile associated with the second user equipment; and causing the data object to be transmitted to the second user equipment for rendering thereon in connection with the communication session.

  • Publication number: 20070127645
Abstract: A technique for providing event-based secondary information to a user equipment is disclosed. According to one embodiment, the technique may be realized as a method for providing secondary information to a user equipment. The method may comprise the steps of: detecting at least one triggering event in a user equipment while the user equipment is receiving a primary content via a first communication channel; transmitting, in response to the at least one triggering event, a request for a secondary content to a phonepage server via a second communication channel, the requested secondary content comprising at least one data object; locating the at least one data object; causing the at least one data object to be transmitted to the user equipment via a third communication channel; and rendering the at least one data object on the user equipment.

  • Publication number: 20070124481
Abstract: A system and method for supplying a data object to a user of a communication system. The method comprising the steps of: establishing a session between a first and second communication device; transferring, in a first transferring step, a request for a data object from the first communication device to a data object server, the first transfer step to take place upon the occurrence of a triggering event at the first communication device; creating the data object intended for rendering at the second communication devices; and transferring, in a second transferring step, the data object to the second communication device.

  • Publication number: 20060114845
Abstract: A technique for connecting a dialed B-party number to a data object is described. The connecting of a B-party number to a specific data object, hereafter referred to as phonepage, will allow an A-party direct access to information that a B-party wishes to display to a calling party. The phonepage resides in a memory in a telecommunications network, or in a memory in a data-communications network connected thereto. The phonepage may have a similar appearance to an Internet web page, but may also take other appearances. The displaying of the phonepage may be made dependent upon the capabilities of the A-party user equipment.

  • Publication number: 20050271041
Abstract: A technique for supplying a data object to a user of a communication system includes: (a) creating a data object intended for rendering at a first communication device (e.g., a subscriber's communication device), the rendering to take place upon the occurrence of a triggering communication event, the data object providing information pertaining to a user of a second communication device (e.g., a “holder's communication device); (b) storing the data object in a data server; (c) transferring, in a first transferring step, the data object from the data server to the second communication device (e.g., the holder's communication device); (d) transferring, in a second transferring step, the data object from the second communication device to the first communication device (e.g., the subscriber's communication device); (e) determining whether the triggering communication event has occurred; and (f) rendering the data object at the first communication device (e.g.

  • Publication number: 20040205170
Abstract: A method and a system which provide means to enable terminal equipment that relies on network based retrieval of data objects and terminal equipment that comprises data object retrieval capability, to coexist and interact with each other on the same communication network. This is accomplished by a filtering server on the network that at least knows which terminals require network based retrieval and only gives these terminals network based data object retrieval.

  • Publication number: 20030174684
Abstract: A data server derives information regarding the identities of users placing calls in a circuit-switched communication network. It per forms this task by initially establishing at least one known and trusted identity “seed”. The data server uses the trusted identity seed, in conjunction with information regarding calls placed in the circuit-switched communication network, to derive additional user identities. Further, a user device may encrypt its secret identification number before transmitting it to the data server to maintain the secrecy of this information. The data server is additionally configured to modify previously derived identities when the server determines that they have become inaccurate.
