  • Patent number: 11337809
Abstract: A kit for repairing and/or replacing a mitral valve includes a mitral valve prosthesis and a loop-shaped element with a proximal end, a distal end, and a curved body. A proximal portion of the curved body is sized for positioning on an atrial side of the mitral valve and a distal portion of the curved body is sized for positioning on a ventricular side of the mitral valve. The distal portion has a first curved region with a radius of curvature that is larger than the radius of curvature of a second curved region so that the distal portion passes between heart muscle wall and chordae and circumflex the chordae of the mitral valve when the distal portion is rotated into place at the ventricular side of the native mitral valve.

  • Patent number: 10364919
Abstract: Invention relates to a manufacturing process for making a bracket and subset assembly, process including: step (a) of placing bracket within a forming tool and putting between first portion of said bracket and second portion of said bracket a subset having a tube element and an elastic pad, step (b) of actuating the forming tool for plastically deforming the bracket so the first and second portions of the bracket come closer one to the other and press subset, thus gripping subset between the first and second portions of bracket, and during the step of actuating the forming tool for plastically deforming bracket, step (c) of using a propping spacer, distinct from the subset, for stopping the second portion of the bracket at a predetermined clamping distance from the first portion of the bracket, to secure the subset without crushing it.

  • Patent number: 7226595
Abstract: A conjugate between a target-seeking moiety and a modified superantigen, characterized in that the superantigen is a wild-type superantigen (SA I) in which an amino acid residue in a superantigen region (region I) determining binding to TCR, preferably TCRV?, and T cell activation have been replaced by another amino acid residue while retaining the ability to activate a subset of T cells. In preferred embodiment the modified superantigen is a chimer between at least two wild-type superantigens (SA I, SA II etc) characterized in that one or more amino acid residues in a region determining binding to TCR and T cell activation have been interchanged between various wild-type superantigens. A therapeutic method making use of modified/chimeric superantigens as defined in the preceding paragraphs. An antibody preparation in which the cysteine residues that provide for interchain disulfide bonds have been mutated so as to forbid interchain disulfide bridges, preferably to serine residues, for use as pharmaceutical.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a carrier for introduction of substances into cells comprising a modified major capsid protein L1 of human papillomavirus (HPV-L1 protein) devoid of type-specific epitopes causing production of neutralising antibodies. The invention also includes an oligo- or polynucleotide coding for said carrier, vaccines comprising said carrier or said oligo- or polynucleotide, as well as methods of using the carrier or the oligo- or polynucleotide in vaccination against viral, bacterial or parasite infections as well as against development of certain cancers. Especially, infections of human papillomavirus and the development of cancer as a consequence of such infections are recognised.
