Patent number: 11943636Abstract: A method performed by a network node for beam management. The network node receives one or more quality values from a User Equipment (UE). The one or more quality values are measured by the UE on first reference signals transmitted by the network node in respective one or more beams in a first set of candidate beams. The A serving beam is selected out of the first set of candidate beams based on the received quality values for data communication with the UE. The network node creates a rule related to signal quality. The network node obtains one or more second quality values related to respective subsequent messages transmitted to the UE in the selected serving beam. As long as the rule is fulfilled with respect to the second quality value, the network node transmits one or more further subsequent messages only in the serving beam.Type: GrantFiled: August 20, 2018Date of Patent: March 26, 2024Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (Publ)Inventors: Nicklas Johansson, Per Burström, Anders Landstrom, Kristina Hessler

Publication number: 20240086513Abstract: A user of a device is authenticated after providing a pass code or other data confirming the user can access data on the device. While the user uses the device, behaviometric data is recorded which includes measures of how the user uses the device. Additional data, however, can only be accessed with a biometric and/or second authentication after collecting at least some behaviometric data, in embodiments of the disclosed technology. Depending on how close of a match the behaviometric data received is to previously recorded behaviometric data for the particular user, a threshold minimum is set for the biometric match in order to grant stepped up authentication and authorization to view the additional data. In this manner, a legitimate user often requires less time to authenticate compared to the prior art and a fraudulent user is rejected from access to sensitive data more accurately.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 16, 2023Publication date: March 14, 2024Inventors: Ingo Deutschmann, Per Burström

Publication number: 20240037541Abstract: A method for determining whether a secure transaction between a user computing device and a server, connected via a network, is controlled remotely via a remote access tool. The method includes, during the secure transaction, actively perturbing and/or probing the network to change the conditions in the network. During perturbing of the network, data relating to user interactions with a user interface associated with the user computing device is collected and compared to reference data relating to user interactions carried out prior to the secure transaction or prior to perturbing of the network. Based on the comparison, a probability that the secure transaction is carried out via a remote access tool is computed and is compared to a predefined threshold. If the threshold is exceeded, the secure transaction is terminated.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 29, 2022Publication date: February 1, 2024Inventors: Tony Libell, Per Burström, Mikael Åhlén

Publication number: 20210376902Abstract: A method performed by a network node for reducing Inter-Symbol Interference, ISI, in a wireless communications network. The network node provides a number of beams for transmissions between the network node and respective one or more first User Equipments, UEs, and a second UE. During a time period, network node obtains (301) measures of ISI per beam out of the number of beams related to transmissions between the network node and the one or more first UEs. The network node then reduces (302) the ISI in the wireless communications network 100 by obtaining a beam for transmission between the network node and the second UE. The beam is selected out of the number of beams by taking the obtained measures of ISI per beam into account.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 3, 2018Publication date: December 2, 2021Applicant: Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Per BURSTRÖM, Arne SIMONSSON, Magnus THURFJELL, Kjell LARSSON, Sven-Olof JONSSON, Svante BERGMAN, Bo GÖRANSSON

Patent number: 10419156Abstract: A network node and a method for determining a transmission parameter for a transmission to a wireless device. (i) path gain information relating to the wireless device, or (ii) downlink received power relating to Cell-specific Reference Signal(s), CRS(s), transmitted by at least the serving network node, and load information of network nodes that are potentially strong interferers to the wireless device are obtained. A Channel State Information, CSI, report is received from the wireless device, and a CQI offset is determined using (i) the obtained path gain information or (ii) the downlink received power, and the obtained load information. The CQI offset is the difference between a Signal to Interference and Noise Ratio, SINR, for a data signal and an SINR for a CRS. The transmission parameter is based on the reported CSI and CQI offset.Type: GrantFiled: November 4, 2014Date of Patent: September 17, 2019Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (Publ)Inventors: Sara Sandberg, Per Burström

Patent number: 9832780Abstract: According to embodiment of the present invention, there is provided a radio base station (20) and a corresponding method for estimating the quality of the uplink control channel. The method comprises measuring (32, 42) a quality parameter of the uplink data channel, and using (38, 50) this to estimate the quality of the uplink control channel. In one embodiment, measurements of the uplink control channel are taken and their reliability determined. If the reliability is low (i.e. below a threshold, or below the respective measurements taken on the uplink data channel), then measurements on the data channel are used instead of those made on the control channel to estimate the control channel quality.Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 2008Date of Patent: November 28, 2017Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Per Burström, Aare Mällo, Henrik Sahlin, Arne Simonsson

Publication number: 20160269949Abstract: A method in a network node for determining a measure of a downlink interference in a wireless communications network. The downlink interference comprises a first interference in one or more first user equipments in a first cell served by a first base station. The respective interference originates from a second base station when the second base station communicates with one or more second user equipments in a second cell. The network node obtains a first metric representing a count of the second cell as the strongest interfering cell for the one or more first user equipments in the first cell based on a respective information from the one or more first user equipments. The respective information indicates a strongest interfering cell for the respective first user equipment. The network node determines a measure of the downlink interference, based on the first metric.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 8, 2013Publication date: September 15, 2016Inventors: Per Burström, Arne Simonsson, Tomas Jönsson, Peter Ökvist
