    Abstract: A method and system enabling high-accurate determination of the position of control devices in a towed seismic instrumented cable-spread by utilizing absolute and relative position measurements, among others, provided by that the control devices are provided with GNSS-units, and possibly supply of differential correction signals from a high-accurate positioning source onboard the survey vessel by means of data transfer in the instrumented cables or via radio directly to the control devices when they are in surface position.
